I've been having the same issue with all but one player on my friends list. There's an 'Unmute' option in the context menu, but when I click it the menu closes and the player remains muted.
I'm playing on PC with Xbox Game Pass.

I am having the same issue. Any fix?

Either you or, them, if I'm guessing, need to log out in the game, close the game properly in the console, log out of your console account reboot and log back into all. It worked for me at least. My guess is its them if you van hear others.
