The grapple hook is only used at the end of the current last mission, which is also the best mission in the game. I was not upset at getting the grapple hook, but how you get it. I won’t spoil it because it’s an awesome moment You should still get the game, it is fantastic and it’s only 20 dollars. There’s a sandbox mode that’s literally GM construct. The grapple is a bit of a trope, but it’s very non intrusive in Ultrakill. It is a game you have to get good at, but it’s mechanics are very different from other movement shooters. Fr I think like half of the current mechanics were bugs, and then the devs where all like “-blam!- IT ITS A FEATURE NOW BABBYYYY” like shotgun punching, dash jumping etc My only issues are that the controls are a bit weird and the game is too short, which is only a problem because the game is still being updated as it’s in early access. Solid 9/10 from me
