I usually like to stick with medium just cause (in my opinion) it's the most safe option cause it's not undercooked where you could probably get sick but it's not over cooked and dried out

Edited by Drivingmantis: 8/4/2021 5:16:49 PMIf you’re eating a steak over medium rare you can go and punch yourself in the face. You’re not going to get sick from a medium rare steak, I’m sure you’ve heard of steak tartare. Literally raw beef, people eat it all the time and are fine. GROW UP

1 ReplyWhen I saw the post, but didn’t click on it, I thought “fork and knife” and it nearly brought a tear to my eye to see that is an option

extra pulp, from concentrate

1 ReplyNice and juicy, I expect blood to squirt out onto my shirt when I stab it.
this happened to my dad about 9 years ago, we were going to see a movie and decided to have a meal beforehand. We both got surf n' turf (scotch fillet with prawns in a cream sauce) he stabbed the steak with his fork and blood shot out onto his white shirt 😂
Well done to a crisp with ketchup 👍🏻

Depends on the cut of meat. I don’t like steak that’s too tender, so cuts like filet or ribeye I’ll eat medium rare. Any other cut with a bit more texture I’ll have rare.

2 RepliesI use my telekinesis to consume the steak.

Edited by Speaker: 7/28/2021 6:23:34 PMyou cannot get sick from eating rare beef, unless the cow was sick or had parasites. EDIT: most cases of people getting sick from rare cooked steak is a matter of improper food handling, cross-contamination or foodborne illness that could be as simple a vector as forgetting to wash your hands before eating.
-
1 ReplyI eat it like a normal person

Why is "with my hands" not an option?

Depends where I’m eating it. If i trust the establishment to not carelessly slather the beef in raw chicken juices before giving it to me, as rare as they can make it (preferably just bringing the live cow out to me would be the ideal scenario); but in most other places medium rare is fine.

I cook my steak medium rare, it took me awhile to perfect, but I haven't had to cook for myself for some time so I had to experiment a little to relearn how to cook. I do like steak but my main protein source usually is some sorta fish, I am an absolute seafood fanatic, Sardines and Herring...

Medium. Best balance of tenderness and safety.

7 RepliesHoly smokes, why so few medium-well? Well done is good only for something like pork where I absolutely want it creepazoid-free.
Sorry, all out of salt.
3 RepliesPeople who like their steaks well-done probably also enjoy eating mouthfuls of sand.

Used to go with medium rare, but the last few times I asked for medium rare it came out much more like rare. Apparently no one in this area knows how to cook a steak anymore, so I've been getting medium instead.

In a bowl with milk, ketchup, and a spork
