...what it's like to eat a toaster?
To chew on the wires like licorice.
To pull the casing apart and eat it like a pastry.
To lick the crumbs from the bottom.
Would the processor have semi-soft texture like sugar cookies, or would it be a satisfying crunch like quality chocolate?
Would you take bites out of the spring, or would you slurp it like spaghetti?
Would the nobs and buttons be added to the casing as a garnish, or would they be eaten separately?
Would you make sure the heating elements were warm, or would you let them cool?
Or are you the daring kind?
The kind to treat it as a whole.
The kind to eat it all together.
The kind who thinks someone went through all the effort to put this together, who am I to dismantle artistry?
The kind that believes that every piece is deliberate, and blends with the other flavours in a purposeful way.
How does one go about eating a toaster? There are many parts.
Many ways to eat.
Many ways to express the feelings invoked.
Love? Hate? Sad? Happy?
