Maybe I'm viewing Destiny 1 through rose tinted glasses, but I remember one time, a long time ago, playing Trials for a few rounds just to get the helmet. And I did that, we even had a few wins! It was tense, but in the end it was worth it! I decided to give trials another try in Destiny 2, with the same goal. And it's like a totally different experience.
I played three matches and they were all over in less than a minute. Just walk out there and get one-shot. No stand-offs, no tension, it's just hurrying to get the first shot. I know I'm not a great pvp player, but I used to be able to hold my own. Now I feel like a cardboard target. This sucks.

2 RepliesThe level of sweat now compared to back then is exponentially higher. There’s even a category of people sweatier than the normal sweats, these are super sweats and they are considered sweaty even by the sweatiest of sweats. There’s so much sweat now it’s like trials is in a sauna.

I’ve still got D1 on my old console and play it sometimes, vastly different game and PvP likewise plays way different. The weapons, supers, movement, etc etc are not as good and feel extremely clunky. But that’s just my objective opinion and by no means any kind of ‘be all to end all’ statements. 👍😂

Maybe it's gone down now after a while of not playing but for the longest time my trials elo as been top 10% and in my better days even higher than that but with the sheer lack of players even in a full team of people around the same skill/elo it's a horrfic nightmare to get to just 4 wins without losing. So i hope bungie do something to bring both overall population up as well as trials population but i doubt it and i doubt I'll even play again until witch queen just to check it out cos it'll be on gamepass

Dead mode. A mode that locks lower 97% out from top loot should die.

16 RepliesTrials has been a bad experience for the majority of participants since it's creation... It is what it is... 10,000 Guardians played last weekend... I'm Honestly Surprised it Still Exists Would probably be better to re-tool it into a PvE Survival Mode Type Event... Trials of the Nine Survive 9 Waves and you can Visit the LightHouse Prison of Elders Type of Event...

3 RepliesYep, I don't bother with it any more. It's only got the very, very, very best players left in the play list. If you're not in the top 0.001% you're going to get absolutely slaughtered.

It's not just Trials. Skill Creep is present in every Crucible mode. I still remember Y1 D1 when aerial maneuvers were uncommon. Now they are expected.

Dead in a minute? All I been hearing from the top streamers etc is that people are all camping and building supers so if your dead right away you must not be doing it right. Perhaps be less aggressive if that’s how majority are playing.
