The year was 1987, I was in London as an aide to a friend of mine. At least that’s what I claimed, in reality I was on a foolhardy crusade against some magics which I called lesser, and evil. I was a foolish cryomancer using enchanted gear as a crutch for my rather weak spells. I was looking for some trouble to get into when I came across a house. It had that troubling aura that told me I was gonna be involved one way or another, so I went inside.
Woo, young Abraham time.
English
-
(Uh, the time only applies to the story, but I’ll take this.) *The foyer is relatively neat and tidy.* (Also, you might want to read the other stories to understand this one)
-
(Eh, time travel is more fun, I get to be a slight variation on my usual character.) “Getting the feeling whatever’s going on isn’t exactly what I’m used to.” I looked around the room for clues as to what was going on, and why I felt that odd sensation.
-
*You notice the basement door is slightly open.*
-
Seeing the Basement door I knew I was in for something strange. “Why is it always a basement?” I asked myself as I slowly crept through the door careful to not make a noise.
-
*The stairway is littered with a massive amount of cobwebs.*
-
I kept going down, the cobwebs were likely the least of what I’d find down there.
-
*You hear chanting.*
-
I knew that at the bottom was some bad news, the only question was whether I would get out of this burned by my decisions or not. So naturally I kicked the door open. “So sorry but, this party is over.”
-
(Door, what door?) *There is a ritual circle at the center of the room and a hooded figure at the center of the circle.* Kendall: “Another one?”
-
“What? I’m not the first one here? Damnit. Thought I finally got one.” It was only after I fell on my face that I realised there was no door.
-
“I’ve killed a few others that came here and I’ve been quite bored, my master won’t let me do anything until this portal is finished.”
-
“Ah, well, I’m afraid that comes to an end here. London isn’t the place for portals, try Cardiff next time, much better climate for it.” With that I created my signature weapon back then, a sword made of ice and light. Looking back it was a dumb signature weapon, more flashy than useful.
-
“I’ll try and shut it down but I’ll have to make sure that he’s not watching.”
-
“Wait... so you’re going to delay summoning your master to fight me? Huh, that’s new. I respect that, makes it more dramatic.” I blame this guy for my later phase of world domination obsessed.
-
(Really?) “No, I’m going to delay his army from coming here, he’s currently controlling my body. I only have free will for a short amount of time. I don’t want to fight you, but he does.”
-
“Wha- alright. Not sure how that works but sure. Let’s tango.” Looking back, this was a very, very dumb decision. Granted I was incredibly stupid at the time so I’m sure it made perfect sense.
-
*Kendall shrugs and ignores what you said, he then goes and sits down.*
-
“What..? Damnit.” And like the brash fool I was, and debatably still am, I threw an ice knife at him.
-
*He grabs it and starts playing with it.*
-
“We gonna do this or not? Otherwise I’ll just shatter your dumpy portal now and leave you frozen here.” I was not one for rational thinking then. Or accepting of the limits of my abilities.
-
*Kendall disappears and a being made of shadows appears in his place, he then snaps his fingers and sends you falling through a trapdoor.*
-
“Oh shi-“ As I fall through a trapdoor the only thing I could think of was: Damn, should’ve burned my shoebox before I died.
-
*You land on the floor unharmed, but you feel something begin to coil around one of your legs.*
-
“Ah! Snake!” I only vaguely recall this, due to my panic at apparently being attacked by what I thought was a snake, but I do remember slashing wildly with my sword.
-
*You hit nothing and a face appears in front of you, it seems feminine and reptilian, almost dragon-like.* - “Hello there.”
