Non meta weapons
Anyone else occasionally dust off a few non meta weapons from the vault and use them in the Crucible and do pretty well with them? I used my Sacred Province and Merceless in quite a few matches yesturday and had a freaking blast. I hope they fix the bug with it soon because I'm probably gonna keep using it.

1 ReplyYeah, the game is fairly balanced. Lots of whiners on here because they can't dodge an auto rifle or some other annoying gun. If you're skilled at PvP, you can usually use any gun and succeed.

It's all fun and games till they realise it's a 0.6 optimal ttk with 0.8 all bodyshot ttk and you've always got it prespun into full rpm into every engagement. Peacekeeper with a +4 zoom kinetic smg for longer ranges + recluse's another really fun meme loadout when you learn to not play into shotgun ranges. Peacekeepers give your guns more handling than quickdraw + snapshot combined, fast autoloaders, longer slide distance, sprint speed buff and +50 hidden mobility. It's such fun zooming around titanskating with it with recluse serving as a free extra deadly killclip for your longer range smg. Both loadouts got weak points that break them down in the sweatier playlists, but they work really well in 6v6s.

My buddy uses Le Monarque and a 110 rpm HC and he got flawless with it. I thought i would try it out too, and it is insanely good . Bows are incredibly underrated imo.

I prefer to use my Black Scorpion in PvP. Just hit the 2,000 PvP kills with it. Too bad it gets sunsetted soon.

I’ve been having fun with MIDA since I got the catalyst to drop. Not that MIDA has ever been bad but it’s not current meta either

Most of the time I use randomizer to keep crucible fun, I can’t stand using meta loadouts all the time. X hand cannon and Beloved/Shotgun gets stale so fast. Idk how people run meta day in and day out without getting bored.

Took me awhile to get use to the janky ass recoil (ps4) and I had to force myself to stop hot swapping my guns between gunfights to keep the perk from resetting but when Ravenous is on this thing hoses people down like Cardi B's WAP.

Merciless is still broken... the exotic perk doesn't work, it doesn't fire off at a faster rate every shot like it's supposed to. Erentil, Main Ingredient, or Hollow Words are a better choice and doesn't take an exotic slot.

I used to like to run 600rpm autos last couple seasons when running off meta stuff. My galliard with snapshot/KC I felt could compete pretty well. Honestly, I felt like 600s were in a pretty decent place, didn't really warrant the buff received. I try running my 450 rpm pulse with demolitionist and either swashbuckler or zen moment, but feel that it gets trampled on by competent players and I need to play very evasive with it in order to do ok. Usual it means I often switch off to my 540 outlast with rangefinder/ demolitionist so I don't need to swap armor pieces. Outlast having very low handling even with fluted barrel means it needs a dexterity and targeting mod in order to feel quick enough to keep up with everything else. Gnawing hungers high handling makes it hard to contest against especially when TTK is not on your side. GH really doesn't need a reload, targeting or dexterity mod with most of the rolls.

Nature of the beast 180rpm Hand Cannon does well Primarily I run Blast Furnace and often end up with a half decent KD But I also run exclusively solo so if you are in a coordinated team there are possibly many viable options. 600rpm auto being the in thing I have run Monte Carlo with decent success too but I mainly run that for it's melee Regen perk. Erianas Vow occasionally gets a dust off for shits n giggles too. Im considering giving sniping a run (for the first time ever) Don't have some of the favorites for sniping but hell any should do hit a head and they'll be dead right? IF I'm up against a stack or decent players using gnawing hunger, summoner, revoker I'll chuck on jotunn for a solid reliable counter. Also had a blast with The Last Dance sidearm, it rips through the 600rpm auto crowd. Need to find a decent shotty for pvp haven't really done any shottie running since early in Destiny 1 for pvp always been more a fusion person.
