Bungie, now that you have developed the Iron Banner and Crucible around what the You Tubers and Play for Pay players want , I have just about decided to cancel my order for the new DLC. I have been a Destiny Player almost from day one. I looked forward to playing the game and meeting new people. However I have to tell you we have lost several clan players because of the injustice regarding player equality. The game was and should be skill based , not what ever it is you it setup as now. We have people in the Clan who are tired of being "Cannon Fodder", and I certainly don't blame them. I am tired of it also.
Today Saladin called so many games be cause of lopsided scores that I couldn't finish bounties and grew just plane tired of the mess.

Like any other pvp perspective of a game, get good at it

Go play Rumble, get good at winning a 1v1, sometimes you'll have to win a 1v1 right after you just killed someone and are low on health, sometimes you'll have to win a 1v2 where two players are trying to kill you so they can kill each other after you're dead. This is the playlist to get good. Also my favourite and most played playlist. The first 30 seconds to a minute can be pretty wild. Now take these skills into 3v3 Survival. Freelance is fun up until you get to around Mythic 1 or just before. After that you'll be fed up with potato team mates using up all your lives and consider forming your own team). Now you have an appreciation for PvP, your skills are increasing and the realisation that 6v6 is for scrubs who like to stack up and can only get kills because they have 5 friends firing gnawing hunger at the same target and it's a lottery to see who gets the final blow. Same applies to Iron Banner which is a PvP mode made for PvE players so they can use the advantages of higher light levels and stacking to stomp randoms who aren't communicating. Some people who play Iron Banner will have a false sense of ability after the week is over and they will play a few games of other crucible modes where light levels are not enabled and they may go in solo. This doessn't go well and will result in outrage regarding lack of SBMM and posts on these forums saying PvP is broken. There's only one thing that needs to be fixed with The Crucible (people forget that it's called the Crucible and some are ignorant of what the word means) and that is stacks facing solos. This aspect is utterly broken and is the only thing that needs to be addressed. TL;DR: Rumble makes you better, Survival will help you learn strategy, 6v6 is scrubby team shooting no skill stacks trying to match with randoms. Freelance everything Bungie.

18 RepliesI looked at ur game history. On hunter: 23 games played. 13 losses and 10 wins. So close to a 50-50 win ratio. Little lower than what it would be in sbmm. On warlock: 13 games played. 4 losses and 9 wins. 66% win ratio. Quite good for the 'average player'. Higher than what u would see in sbmm. In total, 36 games played. 17 losses and 19 wins. Let's just say 50-50 win ratio for simplicity. But here is where it gets murky. In almost all of the matches, u are consistently bottom of the leaderboards. Regardless of ur team winning or not, mercying or getting mercied, u are not even close to the top. When u get mercied, ur entire team played bad. Even in that, u did not contribute that much. When u win, couple of ur teammates do really well. But again, u are not up there with them. On top of that, ur team has mercied quite a few teams as well. But I do not see u grieving about it. So i guess it's fine when u mercy, but bungie is to blame when it's the other way around. So what can we infer? it seems ur individual skill set is lacking. Now I'm not saying get good. Not at all. Not everyone has the same skills. BUT, even if the game was skill based, looking at ur performances across those matches, u would continue to do poorly (this is my assumption and not opinion). SBMM will not magically make u play better. U say u have a clan? Maybe u guys can team up and play banner. Perhaps then u can see where u stand as a player. I hope u find a solution to ur destiny problems.
I have just about decided to cancel my order for the new DLC
Do it bro/bra. I haven't played in almost 2 years and I'm still alive and feel loads better. Try playing other games that actually entertain you or bring you some increment of happiness. Take a break. Destiny is the Star Wars we have today. We grew up on the OG trilogy and now it's garbo. Destiny won't be as good as the original because none to little of the original people are still there. Sorry for the rant but I'll finish with this. It's your time and money so do what you want with it but they won't listen to feedback unless it's someone making them money. Speak with your wallet and time. Don't pre-order and don't invest time if you want change.

1 ReplyAlready cancelled my pre-order for the new DLC. PVP USED to be fun, and I LOVED doing Iron Banner. I would slog through it as best I could. Now it's the most frustrating chaotic mess I've ever had the displeasure of playing. If they change it and make it so the "casuals" can have fun again, then I will buy it. But as it is now, I will most likely stop playing altogether in a week or two. It's been a good run, but this change is just way to punishing unless you're some superleetdewd

Edited by AutumnKill: 8/7/2020 3:53:26 PMFinally? It's been ruined for a long time now. lol

1 ReplyThen when you do finish an IB bounty it's about 80% certain to be a pinnacle in a slot you already have.
-
I haven’t played in a few weeks & feel pretty d@m good 🙂
-
Oh, I play 4 hours a day but have only played PvE (except solo IB) because I don't like getting melted by low skill ARs while getting flinched off my snipes. I just snap and use mountaintop or stop playing. I'm done with the stress. Rather flawless CoS than get trials Flawless.
-
Yeah I suck at pvp, and haven't been playing much since they switched match making. Bungies choice, whatever. But as all us crappy players bail from pvp, the better players are just going to get stuck playing the better players again. I get better players don't want to play sweat matches all the time. Well crappy players don't want to get curb stomped all the time either.
-
8 RepliesThat’s why i stopped playing pvp. It’s practically impossible for someone like me who is only available on weekends. Also its annoying when you see a trials player sweating it out on casual players who only want to have fun.
-
5 RepliesHow are you ever going to improve as a player if you continue to play the same skill level over and over again.
-
4 RepliesI got bored of stomping on players a long time ago. I just want to play with my friends again but they're so frustrated who knows if they'll ever come back. Games shouldn't be frustrating. Definitely bring skill back to 6v6
-
There you have it. Speak with your wallet in November if you want Bungie to take notice. Look at the reply from the CM. If more players announce their disenchantment and cancel their preorders as a result we might actually see positive change to the game before the November release. 1-remove CBMM 2-revert sunsetting to armour announcement. 3-buff scout rifles, linear fusion rifles, & rocket launchers 4-shorten cooldowns for abilities and supers. 5-scrap the seasonal model and FOMO game direction and replace with proper DLC expansions.
-
I can sign this 100%. Back in the good old days (30 years ago) my reactions were quick and precise. Today I only recognize the enemy after he has fired half a magazine at me. And this will just become worse. No matter what. I wish I could play with the other handicapped persons again.
-
I've been on the losing team in 85% of my IB matches this season. Today after my first loss the game put the stack from my team that refused to play the objective on the opposite team and after the match started I went to shoot a titan that was lagging and teleporting super hard. Long story short, I deleted the pinnacle bounties and turned the game off for the day. I have no idea who that mode is for but it ain't me.

Edited by GrayWolf: 8/6/2020 9:46:47 PMYou are right it is a total mess. They took one of the last enjoyable PvP activities for casual players and ruined it beyond recognition. As a previous poster said last month, the current state of Iron Banner is proof Bungie could f-u-c-k-up a blocked toilet...

2 RepliesEdited by confugamus: 8/7/2020 12:36:31 AMI'm over 65 and I'd love to be matched against others my age. My 'skills' will obviously continue to erode despite the amount of playing I might put in (which is the argument young folk always make).

Edited by FluffyBunnyFeet: 8/10/2020 8:50:28 PMIn my opinion, PvP, regardless of event or game mode in Destiny 2 will always be inherently broken. There is and never will be true balance, and it has nothing to do with match making. (Which definitely needs improvement) You have guns that make the rich even richer. ( MT, Recluse, Revoker, etc.) You have other weapons tied behind raids and such that many will never even sniff at being able to accomplish. Then you have the multiple different rolls on all guns that give inherent advantages over others that are the same gun. It's an unbalanced mess, and always will be. The gun play is top notch, the views and graphics are fantastic, and it's a shame that the PvP side will always be a lopsided joke. If I want a true PvP experience without already feeling like I am at a disadvantage before I even spawn into the map, I play other titles. Crucible is useful for pinnacles, and that is it. 4 games, and back away slowly from the shit show. It's to the point now that I choose my weapon for the week based on the complaints on forums. Hopefully I will see some more Jotunn hate, I could enjoy a round or two making people angry they were killed by a toaster that was shot by a potato, though so far its looking like a Bastion week again..

But .7 KD, is WAY below average. You’re misinformed. Average players aren’t the ones struggling. I’m what you could consider “average”
-
1 ReplySorry but the change was does not benefit the streamers but the average to above average players. Its a great change that does not punish skill as was the case before. You are a bottom 20% player and you should do a bit worse now that you are facing the entirety of the population.

5 RepliesHow are you going to improve if you keep playing shitty players?

"About decided"????? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Just find another game man. There are plenty out there!

172 RepliesSorry you and your clanmates are not enjoying Iron Banner and Crucible matchmaking. I'll give feedback to the team that you would like to see skill factored into more playlists.

Good riddance! If you're gonna quit because of a game mode that is OPTIONAL, you never gave a rats ass about this game. CBMM will forever be preferable to the vast majority of players over SBMM. Sometimes people are just better than you, or me. Stop whining so much that you get your shitty, whiny opinion heard by the Devs and they revert the matchmaking changes.
