I'm guessing the answer is more simple on this one, like many others. TC freely gave out their info for a recovery, won't admit it, and is now finding out why one should never do that. Just my two bits, anyway.

I checked his destiny tracked information and there is nothing suspicious about pvp so I’m not even sure about that

If a recovery went bad and the person intended to deleted the characters why would they have played Trials. Take the money... delete to try and cover up that nothing was done.

Deleting doesn’t delete their player stats. Even if a character doesn’t exist their pvp stats are still present. People do dumb shit all the time because they are gullible. They read that recoveries are safe and legal even though that’s a complete lie and then blame Bungie when they get banned...
