Time to Nerf Mountaintop
So Bungie, when are you gonna nerf Mountaintop to the ground?

Trash cans in iron banner/trials won’t know what to use when it gets sunset. Can’t wait to see it happen.

It's never going away, EVER. Sunsetting is Bungie's "get out of jail free card" to wash their hands of anything that they don't want to deal with moving forward. Better get used to it in quickplay for the next 5 years.

After they nerf shotguns. It's sad when unskilled players use unskilled weapons. In D1 it took two shots to kill someone. They need to not have people start with 2 special ammo shots. Put a chest somewhere for that

8 RepliesNo. I grinded my ASS off for that gun, [i]before[/i] they made the quest step with the grenade launcher multi-kills easier. It’s going to get sunsetted and forgotten to time, just leave it be!

7 RepliesTbh I rarely advocate for nerfs, but MT is and exception. - Accurate while airborne - No charge time - No need to hit an opponent directly since blast radius is high - Works with Quick-access sling Too many positives and almost 0 negatives.

[spoiler] With that being said, I feel mountaintop should have little to no splash damage with spike grenades and perhaps have a set timer before stickies can even go off, merely to offset the zero drop.[/spoiler]

The community created this problem. So the the community deserves to suffer for their own out cry to nerf the quest. Like what did ppl expect when they wanted the quest nerfed. Just suffer until it gets sunset. Mt is my fav pve special weapon so it better not get nerfed until then.

It can be annoying to get killed by but I’ve never had too much of a problem dodging it. Just jump and be a bit mindful of the floor/walls around you.

The only thing this game needs is nerfing the nerf herders. Not everything that kills you is overpowered. Record your matches then watch it and see what you can do to counter it or should've done to counter it. As others have already suggested the jump button will help you out. In the beginning Bungie did say that they wanted to nerf things a lot less than they use to. Players like you are the reason Bungie has the nerf bug back in them again. I beg you please stop begging for nerfing of anything. This is coming from a barely average PvP guy.

Ehy clearmac. Mountaintop seems to be quite frustrating for many PvP players, however, knowing the story of Bungie regarding Buffs/Nerfs times I don't think this is going to happen any time soon. Normally, Bungie Patches Weapons at the beginning of every Season or two, almost never in the middle of it. Probably with Beyond Light and the introduction of the Weapons Retirement we will see also some Buffs/Nerfs and I wouldn't be surprise if Mountaintop will get a hit. Until then, I suppose the only thing you can do is to keep up and try to don't let this situation to ruin your experience.

They might not do it for a long time. With sunsetting, they may not bother to nerf it ever and just let it run wild in non powered crucible, as they are more concerns with it in trials and iron banner. Mountaintop will eventually sizzle it’s popularity out over time. When people can’t use it in powered activities, it’s eventually going to get dismantled for vault space. Bungie knows this.

I should be removed. Should have never been introduced. There are too many mechanics/weapons that are so cheesey that they have barely any counterplay. In trials, the person being carried is usually has mountaintop on for obvious reasons.
