Yep. Microtransactions in a game always makes me skeptical of the EXP/currency balance. What's happening in the background that we [i]don't [/i]know about? MTs give the devs an ulterior motive when it comes to all balance and control decisions. Every nerf, every currency shift, every event added or removed, everything is questionable once the possibility that money could be made off of it comes into the equation.
