I picked up Shadowkeep on release, but haven’t played Destiny 2 since I got max power in the vanilla version. Upon my return I noticed that everybody was using “The Recluse” so I figured that I’d get it myself since it’s apparently best in slot. I went into survival and game after game not only did I recognize how bad a trials like game mode is, but the fact that every gun I was dying to was the exact same.
Died to...
Hand cannon? Luna’s Howl
SMG? The Recluse
Shotgun? Dusk Rock Bones
Fusion Rifle? Erentil FR4
Scout Rifle? Bygones
Oddly enough, nothing else can seem to beat those weapons in a straight up gun fight. I figured, maybe the players deserve to do well since they earned those guns, but then I noticed every survival game was
1 hunter 2 titans
2 hunters 1 titan
3 hunters
3 titans
Let’s not forget that if you see a Titan in PvP they of course will be wearing the “One Eyed Mask” the only exotic that is unarguably the most game breaking armorpiece for crucible.
On top of all of that, I play a warlock. In regards to crucible, I’ve been at a disadvantage since the character select
To sum up my point here, Destiny 2 seems to be nothing more than what you have currently equipped. The game boasts versatility and loadout, but maintains a clear cut and dry best in slot setup. Crucible is a complete waste of time if you aren’t playing a Hunter or a Titan with the exotic helmet and own one of the 5 best weapons in the game. Crucible players are only as good as their guns.

5 RepliesBygones isn't a scout rifle 🤣

2 RepliesCrucible warlocks are a myth and my class kill tracker emblem is proof.

2 RepliesBold of you to generalize that every Titan wears OEM
-
When was Bygones a scout rifle my guy.
-
I know someone who used Ratking and a bow to hit legend. I don’t think that was his guns.

Man... Bygones not a scout rifle, blues not a best shotgun, Luna not "jack of all trades" handcanon. My main -- warlock. And I have every pinnacle (except Not Forgotten). Yea, OEM is bad imbalanced exotic, yea, hunter's have many PvP-tricks. But -- you, not only loadout you use. Player win a game. Not the gun.

I haven’t had a problem using warlock since shadowkeep came out since I’ve been able to use traction transverse steps.

I dunno bro, i have most of the pinnacle weapons, plus most others tbf and i'm still pretty trash

Hotel? Trivago

Go run the menagerie. You can pick up some of those weapons yourself like dust rock & erantil. You can also get the trust hand cannon which is great imo and can roll with better base stats than Luna's. Bygones is a pulse which you can get in gambit. Obviously you need to work for recluse and it's a very good weapon, but way op

2 RepliesHah! Some of the players make me laugh. True titans don’t use one eyed mask and bottom tree striker. Everybody knows that the most titan loadout you can use is top tree sentinel with helm of saint 14 and a sword. It’s actually pretty good in pve.

Shadowkeep is not Warlock Friendly when it comes to PvP.

There is always going to be a META. That's a simple eventually. However to say they are the only viable weapons is pure falsehood. METAs have a tendency to perpetuate themselves, which is why everyone uses it. There are plenty of good weapons that just aren't the best. It's annoying coming across these sweatfest teams but to claim the outcome would have been different if you just had the same weapon as them is simple deflection.
