Liberal logic: Koch brothers edition
Liberals: "the koch brothers being able to influence government policy with millions of dollars of campaign to super pacs and God knows what else is horrible! They shouldnt even be allowed to do that!
Also Liberals: michael Bloomberg and every other billionaire/millionaire giving money to democrats is okay though. That's different.
Moral of the story is you arent allowed to give money to republicans. Only democrats. And if democrats didnt have double standards they would have no standards at all.

Moral of my story is that lobbying and party donations should be outlawed, any and all business interests, both past and future, divested. Too many conflicts of interest all across the board. Government is supposed to rule in the interests of all the electorate, not just the rich ones who feed them money. I'd also outlaw attacks on character etc etc. Mudslinging has forced discourse on actual policy onto the backseat and that is hugely -blam!-ing frustrating. Politics should be [i]all[/i] about policy, but right now? Its not. And thats a good sign the system is broken.

The Koch brothers are a symptom of a corrupt political system that’s allowed money to dictate policy decisions for decades. Until major campaign finance reform is introduced another rich billionaire is just going to take the Koch brothers place in a system that allows legalized bribery. As for the Koch brothers my main objection to them has always been their war against climate science. They’ve been engaging in a massive misinformation campaign for decades. Look behind most climate deniers and you’ll find a money trail leading back to the Koch brothers. They’ve done enormous damage to public trust in climate science.

Yes, bc two billionaires are honestly and truly concerned w the welfare of average Americans. I tend to think the most likely explanation is the truest. Since becoming involved in politics, the Koch's have seen their fortune increase by several billion dollars. They have also seen rules/regs affecting their business significantly decreased. Something tells me that both these occurrences are far more than mere coincidence.

I'm convinced these people you rail against don't even exist or make up such a minority to be pointless. Some of the most popular liberal candidates with actual leftists are Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren who both campaign heavily on over turning citizens united and removing money from politics in its entirety. I've never once been okay with corporations or individuals lobbying anyone in congress. But right now its the only way to stay in power if you yourself are not a billionaire.

Businesses shouldn't give any money into politics. It creates a conflict of interest of politicians catering to those businesses rather than the people. Separate business from state just like religion from state.
