Humans are -blam!-ing terrifying.

Pursuit goddamn preparation folks. Not to mention we’re the only species (that I know of) that has a concept of revenge killings. “You come into my territory and kill my son, now I take my whole tribe and not only kill you, but kill you and every other member of your species I find until I get to you. Then I will kill the rest of your pack” - humans basically after inventing the spear. We are scary mother-blam!-ers.

Now, I don’t remember where I heard this, but supposedly most of the time when an elephant stampede destroys a human settlement, it happened almost immediately after elephant hunts, implying destroying the settlement might be a form of revenge. Fun fact; elephants are the only non-human animal to mourn their dead!
