Bump for kinetic fusion rifle.
It is overdue.
Just a legendary Kinetic Fusion Rifle.

I belive its easy to come up with some kind of lore that is justifying.

3 RepliesExotic maybe, but not legendary. Or just a single unique legendary. Maybe a pinnacle weapon? This is just me but I feel like there’s something quite nice about fusions only being energy weapons. Not sure why.

The lore is actually quite simple tbh. Fusion rifles just fire energy bolts. So basically in the chamber of the gun molecules get excited and move around creating large amounts of kinetic energy and heat which needs to be released. It is released as focused white hot heat bolts; not so dissimilar to void, arc, or solar voops. It's fair to say that in a world with space dragons and wizards that this is not much of a stretch.

5 RepliesVeist is the foundry for unique and niche weapons. They make the only legendary linear fusions. And every Veist weapon has a characteristic green tracer effect to fired bullets. We need a Veist kinetic fusion rifle that shoots green bolts.

Arbalest works since there are real life versions of railguns and its perk makes sense since its a railgun (suppose to fire at high velocity and pierce armor/shields) you can have all the upvotes you want you need to give ideas not just 3 words; Kinetic fusion rifle.

Yes even though there is space-magic and wizardry and fantasy elements, there is also a level of continuity in everything. Arbalest is kinetic because it specifically fires slugs, not energy bolts. Fusion rifles are specifically established in the Destiny universe as weapons that fire [i]bursts[/i] of energy bolts. Even with space-magic catch-all's, I'm falling short coming up with a reasonable and fitting way for a weapon to exist that (A) has charge-up before automatic release, (B) fires a continuous burst of seven bolts, (C) maintains the projectile as a solid material and not energy based. Edit: At this point it would be better to just drum-up a new archetype called "Flechette Guns" or such with slightly altered physics/timing. It clears up the name too, because 'kinetic fusion rifle' is basically an oxymoron in the context of Destiny.

I wouldn't mind. Then again I'd love to see Legendary Trace rifles. I mean c'mon bungie you have all these 1 shot weapons, can't let us have fun with lasers without using an exotic slot?

Completely agree and it needs to function just like a regular fusion rifle. Like trace rifles being an offshoot of auto rifles, they could make a new kinetic ‘fusion’ style rifle that is an offshoot of regular fusion rifles. Call it a ripper rifle or scatter rifle. Fires kinetic shards in the same pattern a fusion rifle fires energy bolts.

I’ve thought his over a handful of times, and while technically all an FR is, is energy bolts accelerated through what I would imagine is an EM rail system, I just don’t see them making a ballistic based “railgun” version. Namely because it looses the bite that energy bolts have. Canonically and just in general I don’t think they will exist.

Making lore for it would be quite hard since the word fusion relates to energy. The only reason they were able to do arbalest was because the concept of a railgun was possible. The gun would have to be exotic just because how different the weapon would be. And you need to be specific and add to the idea.

Your English is fine. It's the lack of intelligence of the internet at play here. Every time this subject comes up I'm reminded of how unimaginative this playerbase is and that it's these sort that bungie takes ideas and feedback from. It really explains a lot.
