Soo when is the OP spectral blades getting nerfed?

Honestly bungie never play tests their game properly. They just listen their fanbase which almost 80% hunters, who always get their way cause they complain about everything that is too hard for them to deal with, they whined about Nova warp and not only did it get nerfed it got buried, and now 1 eyed mask. What about all the overpowered bs the hunters have? Their clearly supierior double jump, they have an amazing exotic for literally every scenario, and not to mention their subclasses are all absurdly powerful compared to most other guardian subclasses. It is ridiculous easy it is to play a hunter, I've been a warlock main since D1, but it took me using a hunter to get my not forgotten, playing my Hunter and doing well is a literal walk in the park. It makes zero sense how much armor spectral blades and even arc staff get for that matter. 1. Spectrals have so much mobility and can lunge at you from 5 metres away. 2. They are very difficult to land shots on as opposed to other supers. 3. Literal broken ass armor, most of the times even time shots don't work, all they do is run at you and spam their melee and don't even have to play safe, cause they know they won't die. 4. You give em max mobility, Soo much damn armor, and they can avoid shots so easily and then they can see through walls and go invisible. It is literally the definition of broken. Every damn hunter is probably gonna complain about this post I know it. I dare them to play other classes and do well. I will say this tho, there are many players I do know who are just exceptional players and main hunters and can do the well on other classes as well, but bungie please stop catering to these other scrubs who need literal ability handicap to do good. Never trust a hunter who says they play the class cause they like the design and they think they're cool. You know they're playing it for all the broken bs they have. Not 1, not 1 subclass of the Hunter isnt less then amazing, aside from maybe quiver on nightstalker, but even then it's a class you can work with. Literally every warlock roaming super as terrible ttk, dawnblade is good but so the projectiles do such less damage and the animation time on all the super moves take forever. There are people literally winning comp games just cause of the spectral blades super, and they get destroyed in 1v1 gun engagements. If I had to say honestly, every super in general needs a huge armor in nerf, bungie please reevaluate the crucible deeply and look into the deeper more experienced pvp player base opinions, 90 rpm snipers should be able to 1 shot to the head on any supers, 45/55 shotguns should be able to shotgun melee a super like in Destiny 1. Abilities in Destiny 2 run the pvp and its got to change, Ill agree destiny 2 pvp and D2 in general across the board has improved and gotten alot better, however aside from the Pve, not once, not once did destiny 2 pvp out do destiny 1 PvP. Please for the love of everything nerf armor on supers, it's ridiculous and a turn off, last time I checked destiny is a shooter, so let's focus on the shooting and not the skill less ability spam. Tired of seeing bad players spam op easy to use supers and weapons and get awag with having no thumbs. The big problem is non hunter mains never voice their opinions, cause they know bungie won't listen and look into it, and of course hunter mains will never agree or say their stuff is broken cause they don't want to get nerfed, and I bet they're gonna comment in here denying the clear as day facts. I don't have to even tell you all this, you face it in the crucible all the time, you know what I'm talking about. Actually skilled players who are hunters will agree on this.

  • Personally, I don't use spectral blades that often, but the only way I can outrun them is with the MIDA speed boost, they last forever and it's a pretty good super. But I don't really want to see it nerfed until they nerf Nova Bomb in Gambit :P

  • Fantastic and thoughtful post man. People say you can just run from them also. The problem is they can normally catch up to you anyways, and by running, you leave yourself vulnerable to running into enemies who are waiting to clean you up. You can only run for so long, and half the time another one will pop its super. As soon as you hear that stupid spectral pop, I get a little bit of irritation. In my experience, the only people that defend it are the ones who use it as a crutch. My suggestions is more super is used when people attack with it to limit the ridiculous constant spamming or at least a 25% resilience reduction. The fact that 90% of people I go against, even in QP, uses SB speaks volumes.

  • you know a Super is broken when you see someone kill 3 or 4 people then they kill you, you respawn and 5 seconds later you get killed again by the same person, with the same super🙄

    • Spectral super could use a duration nerf, and hit box nerf but a movement speed buff. It lasts too long, and it’s cheesy AF with its swipe registration (sometimes it blanks, other times it kills somebody 10ft above and behind you) but at the same time it’s way too easy to outrun. The super itself isn’t that amazing aside from its long duration and wallhacks, it gets shit on by storm, chaos reach, hammers, sentinel, daw blade and arcstrider in a super vs super situation. the super that needs the most rebalancing is hammers with embers ..... the aoe is Actually ridiculous and it’s a complete noob cannon. Buffs to compensate would be required but honestly, any super that has such a low skill ceiling and skill floor is just dumb. Blade barrage also needs a MASSIVE nerf to damage reduction, shouldn’t be able to tank a super point blank, as well as their exploding knives and walk away when all they did was panic smash both bumpers... I’m a hunter main, and those supers need some nerfs lol

        OEM was bull man so was nova warp granted warp was nerfed to much but spectral blades is the only amazing super that hunters got On my warlock I have so much to work with so much I can do well with On my titan I do well. I can use any subclass and do fine Granted spectral blades is op and needs a small nerf Don’t act like titans and warlocks are unusable. I’m a hunter main so let’s see some hate

The movement speed is way to high, if a player is far away (country) ore he has a delay you never hit him where he is, because he is allrdy in your face. Sometimes they get their own hits so late, they even dont care about. [quote]3. Doesnt matter if he a target is crouching behind you - if you want to hit the target in front of you he will instantly turn arround and kill the hidden target you wont never see and then you can instantly return your target you wanted to kill first. If a juggernaut is jumping on max air range and super to the ground, the hunter should be also instant dead as the titan from the spectral. But, the speed and the movement wich the hunter gets on a left click (and even more with spectral skating) is too large. 1 left click from the hunter and he is escaping instantly the dmg area of the titan. Once you dropped down as a titan, the game needs after the input nerf a view moments to move again, ore click again. In this time while your waiting for the next move you can do the hunter is killing the target in 1sec. My mustard: I swapped to hunter a view games after the patch because i couldnt believe that titans are so useless against the spectral. Yes but it is, you can kill EASY in every situation 6 targets. The super lasts forever with the GV and there is NO super wich can shut down "easy" a hunter. (Titan Thundercrash and **new sentinel yes) If i watch mates, they are -blam!- every single super+full team with their spectral. The melee on the Hunter has atm the highest "aim assist/targeting follow". It melees arround the courner, above the corner, through the wall, behind the wall - arround the wall up and down left and right everywhere. The second thing about the melee, it connects EVERY single time. On the titan the range is 1m and if you punch, there is no dmg ore no target because it doesnt hit there, where it should hit. The funny thing is - they said the fix the titan juggers by reducing their super energy wich they got back after a kill. Thats not true, they didnt fix that you get less super back - they set the melee range / targeting / registration to 0 so you CANT hit any target in a range of 5m with leftclick. After the patch i used arround 15 supers from jugger in comp - from this supers it happens 10 times that one target is in front of me (2-3m) and the left click party is starting, a target can fly 2m in the air, just stand there still and the jugger isnt hitting. I had it several time that after 4 clicks it doesnt hit the target in front of me. Before the patch it searched like on the hunter every nearby target. This is Bungie - and i hope that they do more things like this, at one point the playerbase can Sue bungie for deliberately fooled the community XD And that the community wich is mainly focused on hunter dont want a nerf - is absolutly normal. But they will nerf it anyway - there is no reason to discuss about. **The new sentinel lasts way to short. A dawnblade can move and kill a full map. Also the hunter. The titan lasts for SECONDS and every dash is using too much energy. The timing you have to know on the titan and on the hunter is 0 to 100% skill. A hunter you can click in every situation, it doesnt matter if you see anywone on the target. The titan you have to choose it for the perfect time. Otherwise its wasted.

          • Make every swipe remove 1/4 of the super bar, if you get a kill, you get 1/8 of that super bar back. Simple. Also, it's overshield needs a toning down. Thanks in advance.

          • Spectral is pretty broken, I will agree on that. But the rest of hunters are balanced. And can I just say: #stopclassism. Hunters aren’t responsible for every nerf in the game.

            • I still don't understand how Nova warp got smashed to oblivion but spectral didnt get touched, considering bungie wants to create a balanced game they don't seem to balance very well. I'd prefer others to get brought up instead of nerfing good abilities, we should feel powerful.

              • I only play on a Hunter and I think spectral blades is an abomination. Just like Nova Warp was. It needs to get the Nova Warp treatment. And while they are at it sentinel shield can also be toned down along with dawnblade. There are seriously people who play this game that would have 10 to 15 less kills a match were it not for their super. There is nothing competitive about the supers in this game at all and it makes the whole idea of playing against other people silly and juvenile. Team with the most spectral blade hunters wins. Its yet another bad decision that stopped PvP from being what it could have been. Which is why people that play other competitive shooters love to trash on Destiny even though it should have been by far the most competitive shooter out there.

              • Justify this bungie or hunters if you can. Nova warp got nerfed to death while spectral blades is still as dominant as it is? Hunters have such a huge collection of amazing exotics for each subclass and situation and Warlocks have hardly any by comparison. You made Blade barrage which is pretty much a faster activating and firing D1 Nova bomb with shatter yet left nova bomb vortex the same? Hunters are still the top choice for comp and the most used class in the game. I find it strange bungie that you have not done anything to change that to make the other two classes more desirable in a drastic way.

                • Spectral blades should be like a glass cannon or an assassin. You can see people through walls, turn invisible, and one shot supers with a heavy attack. Why should it be granted so much armor? It's annoying to go against and is very difficult to shutdown if you don't use your super. I used to main spectral blades on my hunter, until everyone else started using it. That's when I switched to three shot golden gun, specifically to shut them down before they take out our entire team. Either nerf how many times you can spam the light attack to move forwards or nerf the armor.

                • As a lock main I proudly say that I main stormcaller, still use Nova warp, and occasionally use dawnblade (unless I really, REALLY need to slay in comp. Then it's Nova warp or Dawn. Screw the meta. I play my space magic like I want. Lock is love. Lock is life.

                • People need to stop pretending Hunters aren't considerably superior to Warlocks and Titans now. In Quickplay, you see some weapon and character variety because not everyone you find is a sweaty-tryhard, and it's not necessary for everyone to abuse the meta just to win. In High-Tier Competitive, the REAL meta gets exposed. Everyone running stacked with 4-hunters (mostly Spectral Blade), and you don't even see 1 Warlock being used. Last season, the only Titans you found were using OeM. Now that it's nerfed, all of them will just switch back to a Hunter lmao. Point is.... Quickplay isn't a good reference point to draw conclusions from about weapon/character balance because anyone with some skill can make the worst weapons and characters work there. Try using those on high-level Comp and see how truly handicapped you'd be.

                  • I actually prefer spectral blades to blade barrage. Why? Because I am a sentinel titan main and can shut them down with a suppressor nade. When comp was all blade barrage hunters there was nothing you could do to shut them down.

                  • I want to tackle this for the sake of a conversation, not an argument. Just a fair warning. (Looked back over it after having to restart and type this whole thing again, might be a bit too much criticism but beauty is in the eyes of the beholder) 1. Shotguns are already the hot target of demands for nerfing from the community since they left the power slot. Why the -blam!- do you want them buffed to the point of 1v1ing a super and winning? 2. Yes, I agree that at no point has D2 Crucible tickled my fancy the same way D1 Crucible did. 3. There do need to be more counters to supers, but not SO many that Supers become paperweights. People seem to have been campaigning for supers to be useless since D1. I can't for the life of me figure it out. Supers should be more effective than grenades and punching faces. 4. Yes, I can agree with reducing armor in supers TO AN EXTENT. If I am a motherfuggin ballistic missile titan and I can be 3 tapped with a hand cannon out of the air, its gone too far. 5. Why is it a "dare" to play other classes? As you mentioned, some players (I count myself among them) can play all three classes to reasonable effect, they just choose to specialize as hunters. Back to the main piece here, "daring" someone to play more of the game isn't the challenge to their manhood you are trying to make it out to be. It's a joke. And so is anyone who "dares" them to play other classes, but finds out they are actually better at the other two. 6. I do feel the need to address the whole "see through walls" thing. Foetracers do it. Wish Ender does it. One Eyed Mask did it. Hell, in D1, Nightstalkers could do it but had to give up shadestep, or an exotic slot if they wanted both. Yes, in certain ways simple marks can be less effective, but are just as capable of relaying information as seeing exactly what the marked player is doing. All of these methods have a certain thing in common: it all requires certain conditions be met. 7. Yes, Bungie has a history of doing the wrong thing during sandbox changes. Like in D1 April 2016 update when they basically overlooked Sunsingers being stupid. Firebolt through walls and basically being Thorn Grenades. Hungering Blade nerf going into Rise of Iron because a sandbox dev got killed ONCE because as we all know, the Devs are kind of scrubs at their own game. Pointing this out now changes nothing. 8. The "more experienced players" thought is incomplete. Who do you consider "more experienced?" What statistical number does one require to meet your expectation of someone who knows what they're talking about? How many hours must they play to earn your acknowledgement? Not to mention you caught one thing correct here: it's their opinion. The player base at 2500 and above in comp does not speak for me. Or anyone for that matter. Plus these folks could have easily just gotten there by stacking with friends of theirs who are better than they are. Is it the content creators and streamers? These people don't speak for anyone either. They just put a face to a voice but it doesn't affect the validity of their statements. You're perpetuating an idea that has no ground to stand on. 9. The bigger issue I see than what you point out here is players being too stubborn to realize when they are not going to win by hitting their head against the wall any more than they already have. You know what works? Other supers. Ever nova bombed one of your nemesis the Spectral Blades? Burning Maul? Golden Gun? Hell, I've even used Ward of Dawn and Helm of Saint 14 to reasonable success with primary slot nade launchers. 10. Why are other players criticizing you or commenting with opposing ideas "crying" or "complaining?" Because I thought that people were allowed to have a personal belief. 11. Contrary to popular belief, a good majority of missed shots aimed at a player typically is due to the aggressor being suck-ass at gunplay. Hunters avoiding shots can also be due to the hunter's movement being good. It should be. They are supposed to be quick on their feet. Why must every character be riddled with bullet holes? My cape, titan mark and man-dress don't appreciate you. 12. Zavala is a coward and a poor excuse for the Vanguard Commander and Ikora is being too timid

                    • Now before I start, I want you all to know that I do not speak for all hunters. There are actual hunters put there that are complete trash, as there are with ALL CLASSES. However, I am not one of them. I am by no means a pvp god, but I'm pretty decent at pvp so I think I can share my opinion on this. So, without further a do, let's begin. It could hit through walls, 1 shot supers, had ridiculous range, lasted forever, and had a 1 shot ability. However, I agree, it got nerfed WAY TOO HARD. Honestly, there was a way simpler way to nerf it and keep it balanced. 3. One-Eyed Mask was super powerful, and from what I heard about the nerf, it should still be very viable. It wasn't nerfed to the ground like Nova Warp. Bungie just made it more balanced. 4. "OP" bs hunters have/had: Blade Barrage - literally just hunter nova bomb: got nerfed; people think it's OP because it kills them a lot but fail to realize that chaos reach and nova bomb kill faster Shards of Galanor - Hunter Skull of Dire Ahamkara: should honestly be nerfed a little (at least for pvp) Spectral Blades: had no hit registration when forsaken dropped and had to be buffed; got buffed just enough to be annoying; can be killed by other supers and power; my brother had been 1 shot by high impact snipers while using it Pre-nerf Worm Husk Crown: pre-nerf OEM did everything it did but better and did more on top of that (Wormhusk started health regen and gave you some health, OEM gave you all of your health back, gave you an overshield, let you see marked enemies through walls, and gave you a damage buff); got nerfed during the same season it was introduced and isn't that powerful anymore Hunter Dodge: because some people actually complained about it; was never OP to begin with; is a class ability that either recharges your melee when near enemies or reloaded your current weapon (as opposed to giving you and your allies damages buff or healing them, or blocking off areas with a wall that damages enemies or using a barricade that continuously refills you magazine) [quote]Their clearly supierior double jump, they have an amazing exotic for literally every scenario, and not to mention their subclasses are all absurdly powerful compared to most other guardian subclasses.[/quote] 1. You mean the jump that's only good for juking and getting to cover and is inferior to titan and warlock skating when it comes to distance and movement speed? 2. Every class has amazing exotics, not just hunters. Skull of Dire Ahamkara, One-Eyed Mask, Skullfort, Transversive Steps, Contraverse Hold, and Heart of Inmost Light to name a few [spoiler](I actually don't remember the names of most exotics, so I probably missed a lot of other really good ones; these are just what I could think of at the moment; haven't really used most of these either)[/spoiler] 3. In your mind, what makes supers "absurdly powerful"? Because I don't see how non-blade golden gun, non-blade nightstalker, and arc staff are "absurdly powerful". They are just as powerful as daybreak, storm trance, sunbreaker, sentinel, and striker. However, the same cannot be said for Chaos Reach and the tracking Nova Bomb, which are just as powerful as Blade Barrage. Besides, it isn't only about supers, it's also about abilities too, and I'm not just talking about melees, grenades, and jumps. I'm talking about abilities like shooting while jumping, getting bonuses from sliding, healing yourself, and dodging to go invisible. I've played all three classes and have them all in the same light level range (high 500s). I personally find all of them equally easy to play. There isn't anything that I find harder to do, I just need to remember which class and subclass I'm playing on. And as for being a walk in the park, my brother (who mains warlock in pvp and hunter in other activities) played on my titan once and got over 30 kills in several crucible matches. He got most of kills using skullfort shoulder charge. All he really had to do was run to an enemy, press the melee button, and boom, they were instantly killed. How's that for easy? It definitely should get tweaked though. As for arc staff, it has the same resilience as every other roaming melee super. If they are difficult to land shots on, then they are either good at avoiding shots or your aim isn't good enough. I hit spectral blades and arc staffs all the time. All I knew was a basic description of the original supers (a ball that explodes, basically gravity spikes from BO3, and a flaming revolver), who was fast, who was strong, and who was good at health regen. I didn't even know that golden gun 1 shot, and I didn't even know of the existence of any of the other 6 supers. Oh, but I definitely must have chosen hunter for the OP shit I didn't know existed. Hell, I was stuck between warlock and hunter until I finally played the game and saw what they looked like. Arguably one of the the worst supers to run in crucible. And don't even get me started on nightstalker. For all of you that don't know, most of the time, if you shoot shadowshot at an enemy, they will most likely kill you right before tether activates. Also, not 1 warlock or titan subclass is less than amazing, with the exception of novawarp, which was nerfed to the ground but is still usable. Stormtrance kills non supers in seconds and doesn't take long to kill other supers. Chaos reach disintegrates enemies the second it touches them. Nova Bomb instantly obliterates everything it hits (as it should). Nova Warp has to two shot other supers but can still one shot non supers and hit them through walls. Everyone does. All I ever see here is every class constantly complaining about how overpowered each other are. You're just focusing on the hunter mains, which you obviously believe to be completely broken and in need of nerfs.

                    • Around the same times as shotguns,sniper rifles,and fusion rifles at placed back in the heavy slot along with all comp weapons being taken out of comp so the game can become balanced when everyone has those guns. Which is basically never.
