Absurd range? The only one that might be able to kill at hand cannon range is chaperone. With a headshot. I'm tired of you crybabies asking for nerfs cause you got outplayed. Why not ask for buffs to counter. Shotguns are beast of a gun and are supposed to annihilate you. People like you ruin this game. You want everything nerfed so you can run around thinking you're good. I've been outplayed with a shotgun many many times. I'm not in here crying for nerfs. I accepted the fact that it was my own fault for getting out played.

You can simply cover more ground and kill with a shotgun faster then the ttk of any counter. Meta. For example, one can run about ten meters, slide another 3m, and ohk with a dust rock blues from 7 meters in about .5 secs opposed a sidearm which can kill at the same distance but at around .7 secs.

Yes you can kill fast with a shotgun. You expect to take a shotgun to the face and live? You think you should have a chance to counter that? That's not the problem. The problem is just dont wanna die. If you dont wanna get slideshot shotgunned in your face, stop trying to bait corners and doorways. Stop sitting there ads with your pulse rifle not paying attention to the red thingy in the top left corner of your screen. Then cry because someone rushes you and smacks you "because" you're not paying attention. Map awareness goes along way. The gun is not the problem. You are. Stop crying.

And yes. Shotguns need nerfed. Don't try and deny it cause your a shotgun rushing, shoulder charging, ape Titan who can't kill with anything other then what's in the meta. Would love to see someone like you run and auto sniper or something not meta and then see what you would think then. This is the worst meta destiny has had since thorn, lastword and felwinters. I'm not saying burn shotguns to the ground. But don't allow shotguns to be the most used weapons in this game by a looking mile. Because they're easy to use take no skill. Stop being in denial you meta chasing sheep. I have to use meta weapons now cause of people like you who try and over casualize the game.
