Tbh, as of this post, I boycott competitive so that I don’t get ddosed. Is that excessive? Should I give comp a chance?
TLDR; i have a few questions about comp and ddosing in general:
1-Should I be worried?
2- What are the odds of getting ddosed?
3-How do I know I’ve been ddosed?
If you can help me answer these questions, I would be very thankful. In advance, thank you for your time.

Played plenty of comp literally disconnected once.

I’ve played over 1000 comp games and have been DDoS’ed at least four times. I made it all the way to fabled this season without being booted once, and that was a lot of games played solo. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, it can happen, but it’s rare, and when it does, the worst thing that can happen is you need to reboot your modem and router. The stories about a DOS attack frying your hardware, it’s just that… stories, a.k.a. BS.

Not really. I did a comp stretch and only had one player hit out of two weeks of playing comp. You get more random packet loss and kicked from the game than you do an actual ddoss. I would suspect skill has something to do with it, so a player like me never sees said actions. If you are hit, it is just a situation of unplugging your router for about 10 minutes then rebooting. It is actually not bad in comp and this is coming from an average player. Now, I am also never going to see the higher rank levels.. but if you are going after Luna.. you might actually prefer comp over quickplay.
