Had a conversation with some friends this morning about whether or not removing the "1" exotic rule would be game breaking. Specifically for PvE content as I can see the issues for PvP with the low drop rates.
Would using as many exotics as you choose negatively affect the PvE experience? I honestly don't think it would. To me it would feel a bit like Borderlands and create an amazing variety of loadouts. Thoughts?

1 ReplyThis should absolutely be a thing. Its an insult to the people who create these exotics. I would say that 80% of the exotics rarely get used by most players because there is a better option. They can tune the game to make it harder as we would be more op. Think of how cool we could make our gaurdians look too.

This game is for cookie cutter characters if you haven’t already realized this then I don’t think anything will help you. Main proof being the skill trees for the subclasses. Point proven I rest my case. Bungie is absolutely nothing but a money hungry greedy corporate piece of f**king sh*t. Anything that would make sense they do the opposite. They cater to micro transactions, They take the advice of streamers not the everyday casual players, they only make things better long enough to pull in new victims to this big profit scam. F*CK YOU COZMO go F*CK yourself you lame a55 cope excuse giving money hungry dirtbag low life scum piece of sh*t. F*CK everyone that works for this company I hope everyone that works for Bungie gets hit by a car while leaving the office after a long day of doing anything possible to make this game worse.

3 RepliesStarting to think there is no such thing as pve destiny...its player vs developer and they would never give us that kind of advantage over the architects
-
2 RepliesI think they should allow two exotic armor pieces if u have no exotic weapon equipped or two weapons if u have no exotic armor. Would allow some interesting builds.
-
Sounds fun, which means bungie wouldn't ever do it. But i'd like a no restrictions week once in a while, near the end of a season maybe. Have restrictions still apply in normal crucible modes aside from a specific playlist. Everywhere else use what you like and have fun with it.

I miss exotic class items eh

There’s really two separate sides of the restriction, and it’s not a matter of PvP vs PvE, it’s a matter of weapons vs armor. In terms of exotic armor, I don’t think removing the restriction would work out well. Per slot and considering that many armor pieces have narrow perks, it’s going to be a bit of a scatter shot as to whether or not there’s going to be more than a small handful of viable overall configurations, which also means a super narrow variety in Guardian armor appearance. I don’t see that being beneficial. The balance isn’t there; the raw options aren’t there either. For weapons, yeah, I think it’s a more reasonable idea. Exotics designed under the idea of being more different or unique than notably more powerful wouldn’t present such a huge issue. The problem is of course that there’s such a huge balance spread in exotic design mentality and execution, this really isn’t ready to be put to the test yet. But I really think that’s 100% on lack of exotic weapon balance and poor balance in the weapon systems currently rather than something insurmountable. It’s definitely a restriction I’d be more interested in seeing lifted than the 1 exotic armor restriction.

1 ReplyArmor should stay 1 only. But weapons they've watered down or made so situational that exotics don't stand out like they used to. I really don't base my weapon choices by figuring out my exotic first.
-
I miss exotic class items
-
1 ReplyI’m D1 that would be fun as hell. In D2 not so much since the exotics suck
-
Maybe as an event called Exotic Weekend. Although PvP would be a Thunderdome
-
I've always thought Bungie should do a yearly event say a week or two long where the restrictions are lifted and you can just go nuts, have some fun with a broken ass mechanic and crazy loadout. But only for a week or perhaps 2. So that the rest of the year we still have the restrictions.

2 RepliesEdited by l Cadi l: 1/8/2019 9:09:02 PMSure, id love to rock ace of spades with fighting lion and thunderlord, while wearing one eyed mask, doomfang/ursas/synthoceps, crest of inmost light, and lion rampants.
-
People can already 1 shot strike bosses, we don’t need to be MORE powerful
-
For a exclusive activity yes, would be fun
-
It would for me. A good Player versus AI game like Destiny relies on having restrictions on the players power so that their own actions and methods of interactions with the game-world are what set their characters power above the threshold.
-
Since the d2 exotics are underwhelming, may as well be able to equip in all slots.
-
It would restrict my loadout to Ace, Thunderlord and Lemon Arch. The 1 rule makes me swap around, as frustrating as it is at times, it's probably good for the game.

1 ReplyStill waiting for Bungie to create a PvP mode to use an exotic weapon or armor in every slot.
-
2 RepliesIf you havent noticed, there is no "PVE/PVP" only in D2, so already you've hit 1 problem. Secondly, exotic limitation is both a balance feature and design one; exotics are meant to be rare and unique. It'd hardly be so if every titan ran Quiet one, Ursa furiouso, Armamentarium, and Lion rampart, would it?
-
1 ReplyThis is an awesome concept and I think Bungie should create game modes that are designed as an all exotic load out experience. How amazing would an alternative gambit game mode be with a full set of exotic armor and weapons.

2 RepliesEdited by NeoReaper82: 1/8/2019 6:47:01 PMPvP is the only reason why we can't. hell most legendaries are better than exotics.
-
Variety of builds??? Get the hell outta here!
-
We've been asking for this over 4 years. It's not going to happen.
-
4 RepliesThat would be fun, but they'll likely never allow it.
