Pay to win. Grind is highly unrewarding. RNG sucks. Devs lie a lot. DE is all for PC and doesn’t care about console migration. The list goes on...

Just so you know, they roll out the updates on pc first because there’s no approval process needed. That way they can routinely put out patches for bugs and balance changes and when they do update it for consoles it’s a finished product. Not sure if you know, but they patch and update the game just about every week. The dev team puts in a lot of work to make sure they are delivering a quality product.

Edited by Xeno: 11/26/2018 7:29:54 PMEverything you just stated above is false. Warframe is pay to get things faster, not pay to win. You can easily get everything in the game without having to pay a penny. Just know how to get things for yourself and to sell, and know how to sell the weapons/frames/others. The grind is highly rewarding because more often than not, you're grinding for something you want, and will enjoy it for a time before you move on, just like anything else. You only say RNG sucks because you lack patience and time. There is RNG in any looter game and if you feel that it is necessary to always get what you want in the first try, try playing a much simpler game. The developers lie in what? Everything they say that will be coming to the game ends up coming to the game eventually. Things take time, but the devs of warframe tend to be a lot faster than the devs at Bungie. There is also the fact that there are about 800 workers at Bungie and only a little over 100 at Digital Extremes. How is it that over 100 people can do their jobs as well if not better than around 800? Really says a lot about Bungie as a whole. And then there's the fact that every week (Unless something important such as a vacation or TennoCon happens), the developers host streams that show what is going to happen in the game and what they are changing to please the demands of players in the very near future. While Bungie can only rename things *cough cough* ENHANCEMENT CORES *cough cough*. Oh and creating games are easier on computers or PCs so DE creates new content on PC and can then fairly easily transfer that data over to everyone else's copy of the game on PC. Transferring that same exact content over to consoles without little to any major problems takes a lot of work and data.

I need to jump in for the employee count part. Warframe doesn't do nearly the amount of content that Bungie does, they have almost no cinematics, they are not working on a full other game alongside content releases, etc.
-
They have plenty of cinematics later in the game
-
"Plenty" *has like 3* K
-
Well for a free to play game that's going on 5 years I'd say it's better than other free to play games
-
Does that suddenly mean the development of that POS is any more demanding? Because it's not. The most complicated thing in Warframe is how to get Specters to follow you when you wall-run. *yawn*
-
You don't like it, and that's fine, I just wanted to point out that they have about the same amount of cut scenes as vanilla destiny with more being added over time
-
And in that same amount of time, how many are in Destiny 1 and 2?
A whole lot more than 3.
-
Destiny (both 1 and 2) has been out for four years, with roughly 30-40 ish cinematics. If you bought everything when released like I did, I believe I spent anywhere from $200-$300 on the franchise so far. Warframe has been out for five years with around 10-20 cinematics, but you dont have to spend anything to buy it. Honestly though I've probably spent around the same amount. (The cinematic counter is broad cause I tried to include all the little ones in both games, like when you get your supers)
-
What does cost have anything to do with the conversation? We're talking about employee counts and complexity/quantity of content. It doesn't cost me anything to watch a video on YouTube, but they still make money, yes?
-
Ya, I'm not sure what I was getting at, but I had already spent alot of mental math and typing inbetween orders and I didnt want it to go to waste xD I think my point was, as long as people enjoy it, right? Though if you dont buy anything on Warframe they don't make any money off of you at least o3o

I’m not saying I hate the game. I’m just saying the flaws. Also I’m not entirely wrong.
im a mastery rank 9 Loki Prime main
. Pay to win is pay to get stronger . Yes I know you can grind to get some of the things but still if your paying money that helps you play the game better or it gives you an advantage. That’s pay to win.
-
I'm a mastery rank 15. Get to my mastery rank after playing through most of the game, and then come back to argue with me. Mastery rank 15 is not high at all fyi. But it is higher than 9.
-
mastery rank matters why now? Sorry I have other things to do then grind the shit out of a game that I hardly play anymore. Also for the record Mastery rank means nothing about skill. It matters how much you level up characters weapons etc. So chill your Ego
-
Skill doesn't quite matter in a game that is mostly PvE and you know it. And mastery rank is a representation of how many weapons, kubrows, kavats, sentinels, and warframes you've leveled up. Which means by default, mastery rank is a visual representation of how much you've played.
-
Actually it does require skill in a PvE focused game. For example Destiny raids and Warframe planet bosses. In warframe it requires a little more then just shooting the boss to win. But yes I would say warframe usually does require little to no skill. It’s what makes it boring and repetitive. There’s no real challenge.
-
You're talking about mental capacity. If you're smart and cunning, then PvE will be quite easy for you. I'll use the Last Wish as an example. Kalli. You have to be able to understand what symbol you're doing and where it is located on the map. All of this has to happen quickly. You also have to understand what door to stand in. Looking for your door doesn't require skill, it requires a quick enough brain to understand that that is the door you need to be in, and that you need to hurry your ass to that door before you're blown into your own ascendant realm. Parkour. Hmm... this part probably takes the most "skill" in the Last Wish raid let's be honest. Not much brains used here. Mostly your thumbs. Shuro Chi: You have to have the mental capacity to know to use your supers. Not much skill here unless you chuck a hammer across the map at Shuro Chi before she wipes your entire team and you end up clutching it. The part that does require quite a bit of mental power is the puzzle room. You have to understand where to stand and when to stand on it. Morgeth: Umm... run around, run into the taken things x2, run to a guy in a tornado, press grenade button. Shoot boss.... yeah okay. Vault: Well this one it huh. Lots of mental power used here. Kidding. But still more than the other encounters. You need to be able to call out the symbols that appear in a way so that the rest of your fireteam knows what they are, and know whether your team got ant or pen, and know where to go, and know what plate to slam, and be able to quickly find the knight and kill him. Riven: Pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff clusters. BAM
-
Aside from the pay to win part, you just described Destiny lol
-
Wrong. Bungie doesn’t update PC first then everything else over a month later.
-
Warframe isn't pay to win at all, it's 95% PVE, all content to level up is available in game through playing it. Yes you can buy frames and certain weapons but in a game like this all you're doing is paying to not grind if you buy the frames etc.
-
P2W doesn't just mean in PVP. If you can buy a better weapon, armor, or anything that impacts your power/usefulness in a game then it is pay to win.
-
But all weapons and frames are available to anybody, buying them just means you don't have grind for the parts, none of them are hard to get through playing.
-
Yeah, but again. You can "buy" something that impacts your performance in the game. It is not a strictly cosmetic item. The fact that you can get them without paying doesn't matter.
-
It does because you're not getting an advantage from paying for it. Whether you decide to farm and build the weapon or buy it with plat, it will only be as good as the mods you put on it, there's no advantage to be gained from buying a frame or weapon from the marketplace which is the only reason I consider it not PTW but rather pay to not play.
