That's what I often hear from non-gamers which are mostly older people (40+ or so). My parents included, my grandparents included. Also they think it's a,waste of money. I don't really talk to them about videogames. I told them that people all around the world from all ages play videogames but they don't care or don't believe it. Maybe because they never hear of adults gaming. Do you have made similar experiences? How you deal with it?
