Radar is for quicklplay and it is a crutch for poor strategy, call outs, etc. Radar has no place in skilled matchmaking.
-
This is the dumbest reply I’ve ever read, no radar requires no skill.
-
How do you figure? Why does MLG never use radar then?
-
Radar is not a crutch. This poor man's argument, bereft of any logic, has already been thoroughly debunked. Radar is just information; some players use it better than others, just like some players use nades/mobility/certain weapons better than other players. If you're bad at using radar, git gud. And if you want a game without radar, go play Overwatch. Lord, am I sick of the idiotic "radar is a crutch" argument. Again, as I said above, MOST PLAYERS DO NOT LIKE NO RADAR. You can tell players they SHOULD like it, that they OUGHT TO like it, until you're blue in the face. People like what they like, and don't like what they don't, period.

Edited by KleanPlays: 8/14/2018 11:04:13 PMThat is why quickplay has radar. How is it not a crutch? I dominate with radar because it gives me all of the information I need without having to rely on communication or callout accuracy. Which competitive game provides the player base with radar? *Edit* Nothing about this is whether we like it or not. It is about whether it makes the game more or less competitive / increases the skill gap in a skill based playlist.
-
It doesn’t increase the skill gap thelegendhimself makes a very detailed video on this. If you ask me. Everyone I’ve met with claymore is bad. One of my friends who is notoriously bad in d2 and D1 obtained it.
-
Everyone you have met with Claymore likely paid for an account recovery carry.

Edited by Blimgauss: 8/14/2018 11:11:54 PMAnd you know, I could live with it if they just took radar out of Trials OR Comp, but no, without any input from the community, they suddenly removed it from both of the "hardcore" playlists. Really, really stupid decision. If they would put radar back in either Trials or Comp (but not both), I'd be OK with it.
-
If you dominate with radar, you're playing shitty opponents. End of story. Good opponents will use that same radar to dominate you. I'm a 39-year-old newspaper editor. I'm not going pro, I'm not going to some goddamn tournament in Vegas, and neither are the overwhelming majority of players. So, I don't care what other games do, man. I'm talking about Destiny. And every Destiny playlist since day one has had radar, including Trials and Comp. All they've done by removing it is piss off the majority of players. Players want radar back. If you want an E-sport, go play Overwatch or Dota.
-
If radar was back those 4 stacks would beat the solos even faster anyways.. radar is not the problem.
-
And until its revitalized I have no place in comp.
-
What competitive game uses radar?
-
This game wasn’t originally designed to be competitive. What game has no radar with poor sound cues. If I can hear an arc bolt from across map but I can’t hear sprinting behind me there is an issue.

Fortnite??? It has loud audio cues destiny does not. Destinys playstyle was not built for no radar. Neither maps. Neither the spawns. Nothing you can say is going to change my mind. No radar is not fun even in a competitive aspect. D1 sweats were fun and competitive. D2 sweats(I refuse to touch them) also play with radar. Those are the real competitive modes. This competitive playlist crap is just complete garbage and not fun.
-
So if Destiny increased the audible footsteps, then no radar would be fine?
-
I can easily hear sprinting in fortnite I can also hear people building
