I think it might be coming back sometime in season 4, as being put on Hiatus doesn’t necessarily mean gone for the whole season. One thing I can say is that it won’t be locked behind the annual pass, because they know that that will lose them all of their playerbase.

It would be so damn great if the weapons and armor from trials got put into the regular crucible loot pool. Because people like me don't get to play trials because we don't have people willing to play trials and trials you have to have pre-made teams. Game mode would have been better if it was freelanced matchmaking because that would also fix the matchmaking in general for the PvP.
