Anyone else think Bungie’s pulling themselves back together?
I mean, with all these buffs and changes to Exotics and the progression system and Exotic drops and all that jazz? Season 3 is the start of something beautiful, Bungie. Keep it going!

8 RepliesLittle bit naive there. Have you noticed the pattern yet? They've got an expansion to sell. This whole 'we're listening' thing will disappear the moment the expansion drops. Like it has every single time in the last 4 years. People are falling for the exact pr bulls--t over and over again. They don't deserve credit for trying to fix the mess they made. The mess I think that irreparably damaged the franchise. Until I see it's good with my very own eyes I won't believe a word of what they say.

If they somehow manage to make up d3 it'll be because of you fxcktards still supporting the problem.

Think what you want, but realize it’s the same misguided developers and the same genius marketing team that got you hyped the first time around and not much else has changed.

2 RepliesNo. The Love Team is pulling the game together as best they can. Just like they always do. Bungie is still ran very poorly and have nothing to do with all the updates coming- although the live team is part of Bungie, most of Bungie for the most part have turned their back on D2 and are off to D3.

12 RepliesNope. It’s all smoke and mirrors. The “go faster” update is just another lie in a sea of lies. New engine? Nope. Vault space issues will be a thing of the past? Nope. No issues creating content? Oh creating content is too hard! No micro transactions? Oh here’s EverVerse. No throttling of XP? Ah it was a glitch. The most rewarding content ever - 2 tokens and a blue! So how is my tenth (probably hundredth by this point) Better Devils better than the first? Eh Luke? Luke? Luke? Bueller? IF Warmind launches and is just more cut content from D1 then the joke is on all of us. The simple fact that by the time Sept comes around and TTK2 arrives we MIGHT be back to something resembling D1 is not even a joke at this point, it’s absolutely shocking. Think about it and let it sink in. I guess it’s great IF you are new to the franchise, but to those who supported Bungie through all the crap that was D1 it’s a smack in the face!

(Grinding the same nightfall 40+ times for a fixed-roll weapon or a cosmetic is not the good kind of grind that pushes the game forward like in D1.) Guided games are still a mess. TTK's are still low in PvP which means that matches are still focused on teamshooting + hoarding power ammo. Pecking at enemies with two primaries in PvE for 90% of the time feels nowhere as interesting as D1's PvE because D2 is balanced so hard around a mediocre PvP mode. Bungie had three years to learn from developing D1 and yet this is the point we're at. By the time they've even started to pull themselves back together, we'll already be looking at D3 on the horizon.

I compare Bungie today with Arsenal FC and yesterday's departure of Arsene Wenger their manager. Bungie and Arsenal FC are regarded as AAA devs / soccer club Like Arsenal /Wenger Bungie were regarded as game changers 15-20 years ago. Like Arsenal Bungie charge top prices for fans/players to watch/play Like Arsenal fans are now staying away as they are disappointed with the product. Like Wenger Bungie stubbornly think their methods of 15 years ago apply today and refuse to change. In the meantime like Arsenal other devs/clubs have not only caught up but overtaken them so Bungie slowly side down the league table of devs and are way behind the other devs/companies. Ultimately their best work is still from 15 years ago like Mr Wenger. What Bungie now need is a change of management to be replaced by new fresher people who are in tune with 2018 gaming and not relying on past glories. For those who don't follow football/soccer. Arsene Wenger finally resigned yesterday probably 3 years past his effective use at the club. Hence the analogy which will only be understood by a minority I suspect but it fits pretty well.

Nah, pulling themselves together would mean redesigning the engine but that's too much work. Pulling themselves together would mean the old Halo 3 devs step down from their lofty management positions because they can't pull their heads out of their asses. Pulling themselves together would mean that they would kick out biased ex-journalists who think what they want for the game equates to what a general population would want for the game. Are they PULLING themselves together? No. I don't like so. Are they facing in somewhat the right direction? Yes. I would say so. I just wish they took the first damn step. Bungie, you took your time with trying to fix things up. Don't waste anymore time finishing it. I love the game, but I(along with even more people, including Vets) will like it even more if you pull yourselves together WITHOUT the miss-leading lies.
