This is a link to My Name is Byf's video on the reason why Osiris was portrayed as a Dawnblade rather than a Sunsinger like he was in the lore of D1. So, Byf theorized that Light was not ridged and that there were no subclasses, that subclasses were just a name given to certain techniques of mastering a kind of light. For example, there are no Blade Dancers or Arcstriders, those are names given to hunters that use Arc light in specific ways, and that there is only Arc light for hunters. Byf said that asking Osiris why he used the Dawnblade subclass rather than the Sunsinger subclass is like asking why players as warlocks use a healing rift over an empowering rift, it's a preference.
Byf also, in a video that I forgot the name of, that guardians can have a type of light that they take too, or are stronger with. For instance Shinobu, I know I misspelled her name, was more intuned with Arc Light, hence the nature of her exotic armor piece, and Wei Ning was more intuned with a Titan's Arc Light. The same way my Warlock uses the Stormcaller and my hunter uses Gunslinger. Every guardian has a type of light that they resonate with, which could be why Osiris is called a Dawnblade in D2 but a Sunsinger in D1, he is both.
So that extremely long post is about one topic:
Could we see the Sunsinger and Blade Dancer subclasses return as a skill tree like the Defender did in the Sentinel's top skill tree?
