  • Time limits arent a diffuliculty. Those are a stress factor. And not to mention extremely counterproductive in a game based on exploration. For the same reason why bulletsponges and an army of adds are called artificial difficulties. It makes the game worse, not harder. Buffing the enemies would make it difficult. Smart AI would make it difficult. Special boss mechanics would make it difficult.

  • Because they already have in the strikes themselves. Take the Spire for example. A big boss with a lot of health, but not as much to be in the "bulletsponge" range. He has 4 phases, all different. No holes for us to hide in, just some cover where the boss can come in as well. No army of adds, not even on the final phase. These waves are easy to control and you can choose whether or not to focus fire on the boss, or split off. Now how to make them harder for a nightfall? Why not do it in D1 way. Have a timer of ~10 minutes + anomalies. If you can finish it within this time, you have a chance at much better loot, maybe strike exclusives. Let's call it Heroic Nightfall if you will, like public events. If the timer runs out, the rewards are more basic. But you wont be kicked to orbit then. To increase on top of the base difficulty, simply have certain mods or limitations, like in D1. Be creative and think of a few. Grounded, was excellent. Limiting the player while not providing an advantage. The loadout-lock in Prestige is a great idea as well. Just have a few random modifiers lined up to slightly punish the player, ie by jumping, but not restrain or force their hands into doing something different tham play the game.

    See now this, this is a constructive suggestion, go to the suggestion section as i personally think this idea is perfect it keeps what bungie wanted as an option it keeps difficulty and challenge yet it's also accessible. Fantastic suggestion. And jut to clarify as this is the Internet this is not sarcasm I truly feel your suggestion is fantastic. As for incentive may I add nightfall strike specific loot to the timer / heroic version because that gives incentive and longetivity

  • I've actually been writing a (quite lengthy) post with mostly constructive criticism of what, to my opinion, can be improved. And how it can be improved to simply make the game more interesting to every player. It has been taking me a few days already, but I want to make sure it's salt-free and easily readable. Specific loot is a very good incentive yes, I'll definitly add that!

    They unnecessarily casualized it in first place becuase these dumbos couldn't finish it so instead of putting the nightfall modifier back they add this timer bullshit which doesnt add anything but anoyance especially when they like to artificially cap the damage you can do to a boss so you cant burn it or those dumb ass ghost has to open a door parts.

    Again though it's not even that it feels more difficult, it just feels like you have to rush. Being rushed and being challenged are 2 different things. It's like the difference between losing a crucible gunfight because someone is just overusing the meta weapon or losing a gunfight simply because the other guy shot better or outplayed you. Having someone who genuinely challenges you is always fun -having someone who just uses the flavor of the month just gets annoying. Maybe that's just me who feels that way. Idk.

  • Fair enough I respect your views, on he crucible point, to be honest most people can't aim the mida as long as you strafe and are a little unpredictable with a steady hand then it's not difficult, if your a top tier player you'll be using meta as you want every advantage you can possible get. - for example though on PC the mets will be snipers and hand cannons

  • I can live with people being able to use a specific weapon type absurdly well (comes with practice) but when there is one single weapon in the game that holds 10% of all Crucible kills, you have a serious problem. I'm not talking about scout rifles in general: Mida, by itself, is responsible for roughly 10% of all Crucible kills. When you think about how many weapons are in this game...

  • Very true I do not disagree not one bit, but the closest you get to balanced is when everything is homogenised, so if everyone uses to same weapon then crucible is more balanced than not and more skill and map knowledge comes into play.
