5 RepliesThere is literally not a chance in hell of Destiny even coming close to matching Overwatch. It's simply not going to happen. I'm not saying that as a fanboy.. I think I've played the game once when it was free. But the simple reality is, Destiny has had too much bad press for too long... The total number of players, over three years, over four consoles, has come to a total of less then half of what Overwatch launched with. Their active player base makes Destiny's player community look like a basement D&D game. You might not want to hear this. But.... Destiny is not either popular or influential. It could have been sure but it's not... I like the game........ But it's just a little sideshow with a hand full of players who think way too much of them selves. It is not the minor leagues so much as the little leagues and frankly Destiny 2 unless they made some truly staggering changes will probably be the end of the series from any meaningful standpoint.

3 RepliesThey can say it but I just dont see the same level of excitement among players. Granted I knew a few that are looking forward to it but probably about 70% of them are just not hyped like we should be.

Oh yea companies never lie about stats and figures. Ughh some people

2 RepliesDestiny has the one bullet point without hard numbers or MAUs. And is gone from the deep engagement section. In reading financial reports that's usually an indication that stating the actual numbers would disappoint. You may recall Activision had no problem widely reporting numbers when the Destiny playerbase was growing and it's engagement was high. Now this is to be expected. they pushed D1 off a cliff when they reported nothing carries forward. In hindsight not finding a way to keep the playerbase engaged up to D2 was probably a poor business decision. So they have examined all performance metrics and come up with a fact that is no doubt true but doesn't give the full picture.

36 Replieshttp://www.businessinsider.com/study-20-of-companies-lie-earnings-stock-prices-2012-7 And considering this is Activision we're talking about...
-
2 RepliesBreaking NEWS!!! Activision states Activision pre-orders are better than previous Activision pre-orders, without citing specific numbers or sales figures. Please stay tuned for further unbiased commentary about games from the publicly traded companies that are publishing them.

4 RepliesI would expect more cancellations after the PC beta
-
21 RepliesThat's a false equivalency. Annual earnings for the entire corporation do not in any way speak to the number of Destiny 2 pre-order sales. Also not present in the article, is the adjustment(s) necessary due to pre-order cancellations and/or the negative revenue hit due to such actions. As a matter of fact, there's no pre-order numbers anywhere in any of Activi$ion's reports stating pre-order sales of any specific game; simply misleading, generic commentary about how some games of theirs are out selling other games of theirs. Nor does it have much of any type of revenue, net revenue, nor does it break down the few revenue numbers into their various game development divisions and/or associated publishing revenue returns. But, you know; if you don't get even a basic understanding of corporate accounting, then why would you think to look for such common sense things like that... I see where we're at now though. The White knights are really stretching to try to defend what increasingly looks like a losing/disappointing game launch for Activi$ion/Bungie.

7 RepliesThat statement means nothing without numbers or context. How does anyone view this as a "win" for D2 or Bungie?
-
why are all of you so fascinated with their pockets?
-
4 RepliesYou truly are a moron, they wont post NET sales just gross sale. They already had over 50% preorders returned. Retailers have had to issue a $20 restocking fee from the loss they are taking.

5 RepliesWow Industry behemoths ! Very impressive. The have their hands dipped in everything !

10 RepliesEdited by Sickraps, Kell of Bars: 8/4/2017 7:42:13 PMAh, let's see how the "Anti-Destiny just to be Anti-Destiny" squad tries to spin this one. How far might they reach up their asses? Nobody knows.

I like it. 1-2months after release I'll be picking up a copy from the previously played bin for $10. IMO that's all that D2 is worth based on the entire dumbing down of this sequel.

3 RepliesBump! Let the weeping and gnashing of teeth begin.
