Essentially, the Crucible would place a focus on gunplay and player skill, which fits the lore of the Crucible being a training ground for Guardians. And PvE, which is an all-out war for survival against the Darkness, lets Guardians do battle with the best loadouts possible, which also makes sense with the lore.
Seems like a simple solution to me. Your thoughts?

16 RepliesNah. Let's wait and see how it actually works in practice once we've got some real pve to test it out in. That beta wasn't enough content to call the new system hopelessly broken. If they had given us a full patrol zone to run around in and get a serious feel for ammo drops and pve ttk, we'd have a better basis to criticize it. Two little events on rails isn't a real test of the system. Buffed damage and ammo drops will go a long way to changing how it feels, and there weren't enough shielded enemies in either event to get a feel for how often we'll actually need to use energy weapons. I say wait and see. They're not going to change something this fundamental to the new game with this little time left before the release anyway. They'd have to redesign weapons and switch all kinds of shit around, and then test it all over again. It's just not a reasonable request at this point. If it turns out to be hot garbage after we've got the full release, we'll know it, and so will Bungie, because their internal data mining will show that people aren't using it the way they expected us to.
