If we are always weak, slow, and have unreasonable cooldowns on our abilities, then the game is going to suck.
I guarantee the majority of folks hated the trickle modifiers on strikes, so why in the hell would you institute a 100% of the time trickle modifier???
D2 release better come with some way to drastically improve our cooldowns. It better come with synths because I'm tired of simply only using primaries to deal with pve enemies. D2 better allow me to connect that synth usage to freaking d-pad selection! D2 better figure out how to have more than 4 person fireteams.
If this game doesn't get these few things figured out, then so help me, I'll !!!!!....... probably just get the game and play through the story. And strikes. And raid. And a decent amount of all pvp types... but I honestly won't enjoy it anywhere near as much as I did destiny 1.
In a very grown up moment, honestly, I had a realization. all my posts about D2 have been about the fact that it doesn't give me the fun vibes that destiny 1 did.
Is it a decent shooter? Yeah
Do you have space magic? Yeah
Are there some cool artistic backdrops and areas? Yeah
Are there going to be things I can do every day i logon? Yeah
Are you as excited and are you going to play anywhere near as much as you did destiny 1??
No.
I'd like to think bungie has someone sitting at the table saying, "won't some of these ideas decrease the replayability of this game?"
But I just don't know.
I'm about to take on my mentality i have for long road trips with my nephews.
I have High hopes and low expectations.
Hate on guardians.

2 RepliesI don't understand how people can take "it's an old beta" as a satisfactory answer to all of the problems that have been discussed after the beta....
-
3 RepliesOP is right. We don't play games just to see stuff. We play games to have fun. The game we played in the beta wasn't as fun to me as Destiny 1. I hope it's not too late for Bungie to fix this.

Edited by SKILES85: 7/28/2017 2:39:19 PMThis is pretty much how I feel about D2. It's hard to get pumped about new things like the titan wall and shader/elemental slots on armor and weapons, when things that made the game fun in the first place, like powerful abilities and weapons are no longer there. In the trailer, the guardians are running around one shotting everything like bad ass space warriors, but there was no going ham in the beta and that's what disappoints me the most. I've played destiny less every year as the rewards and progression/power have steadily declined. After playing the beta, I'm starting to doubt Bungie plans on making pve exciting again.

7 RepliesPeople liked the Small Arms modifier. People hated the Trickle modifier. So they implemented Trickle full time in D2, and gave us two primaries with no Small Arms feel. Can't tell if devs are troll, or just stupid...
-
3 RepliesIm pretty sure that our builds for the beta were tier 0. That being said, it can only get better, right?
-
1 ReplyTrickle was the shittiest modifier ever introduced to PoE, because it sucked the fun out. And now, as you stated, it's perma-trickle. I agree. And trickle still isn't fun.
-
20 RepliesThey need to stop looking for the easy way out. Separate the balance between both modes and get it over with.
-
7 RepliesI can see this going the same way as The Division. I didn't even bother playing the second expansion for that game, and didn't bother purchasing Wildlands as a result. I'll give D2 a chance, but I will definitely drop it if this funny business continues.
-
they said they already fix cool downs in PvE (I am sure it is not anywhere near destiny 1 speed, but it is better than the old beta build)
-
I used my grenades to bring down yellow barred enemy shields then finish them off with my primary. The days of throwing a sticky into a crowd of thralls and killing all of them may not happen in D2 unless you're 7 levels above them.

1 ReplyHaving a lot of shit to do means jack shit when that shit isn't fun. Which's why I don't care for Bethesda RPGs or Far Cry, but.
-
3 RepliesPlease keep in mind that that is a months old build and that many things they have heard us complaining about do not exist anymore. While I share your annoyance, I see zero chance of them keeping the super cool down how it was in the beta.

Changes have been made I know. This is just my recollection of my time in the beta Homecoming Great cinematics. Overall better graphics. The weapon system change and subclass changes were not what I wanted. With that said I had fun having range options and didn't think our primary weapons were far off from the ideal damage. Grenade damage was low. Loved being in the fight with the vanguard. Hope to see more NPC interaction in the campaign. Excited to play thru this story. Inverted Spire (Most issues already resolved)This is where the issues with pve became much more apparent. The damage is obviously a bit under where it should be especially on the strike boss. Cooldowns need to come down a bit. (one idea I had was making orbs give significantly more super energy to really push teamwork). The level had a few to many empty areas(this wouldn't have been an issue if I had my Sparrow) the boss fight could have had another basic area damage effect to keep the fight hectic. Boss vitality and power ammo issues already addressed in TWAB Crucible I really enjoyed the changes. The TTK is better suited for teamplay and less OHK options made the experience entertaining. Miscellaneous Why did we start Homecoming with the new subclass? Hopefully just for the beta Did Cayde blink away in Homecoming? Heavys Shotguns a bit weak Scouts need larger clip Fusions needs less GG six shooter timer needs small increase Energy weapon shield break stun/AoE rules

I still can't get past the whole idea of a slow charging grenade that is weak as hell? Wouldn't it make sense to make a slow charging powerful grenade, or a quick charging weak one? Who the blam! thought this was a good idea?

21 RepliesOh my God, people. There's just so much wrong with this post, I wouldn't even know where to begin. Please don't purchase the game. Wait for Anthem or something else to whine about. Please. Think of the Children!

5 Replies"If we are always weak, slow, and have unreasonable cooldowns on our abilities" Let me ask you some real questions here. 1.) How exactly are you weak? Do your guns kill enemies? Do your specials kills enemies? Do your abilities help you kill enemies? How much more dead does the enemy need to be for you to be satisfied? 2.) What exactly is slow? The sprint speed is slower in D2 but literally by a fraction. Its hardly noticeable. Jumps and skating are still a thing in D2. I know from experience, because I was moving crazy fast while skating in D2. So, you literally have no evidence of being slow. Just your biased opinion that you are. 3.) Cooldowns. This is the only point I agree with you on. But, Bungie already addressed that they are fixing/already fixed this issue for PvE, as well as giving more power ammo bricks. So, you literally have nothing to complain about.

I always find that the second attempt at a game is always better than the first. Most times, not every time
-
4 RepliesD1 was not fun because of your super in pve
-
3 RepliesHow many mod slots did you change during the beta? None? How the hell do you know what the cool down timers can be? Did you seriously judge an entire game on a beta? Do you know what a beta is? Do you think the farm is going to be a completely empty space because that's what the beta showed?

I'm about to take on my mentality i have for long road trips with my nephews.
It's safe to say this one is thinking of the children, and it's not happy thoughts...
-
5 RepliesStop bringing up the lack of ammo in the beta. They already stated that the beta was an old build, and they have upped the drops of power ammo... ffs
-
Edited by RobbieG205: 7/27/2017 12:36:40 AMD2 is gonna be cool, really looking forward to a change, things not being the same as Destiny is good news, I want a new game and there's loads of good looking new stuff and challenges to look forward to. Don't know how anyone can moan about a game when they haven't played it yet
-
No hate, Just happy to tell you that yeah there will be MODifiers... check out youtube bout the Mod Slots per Weapon/Armor Gear... Customizable Mods you can pop on aside from ones that roll. Cooldowns, weapon perks ( firefly for example )

1 ReplyWhy buy the game at all lol...

9 RepliesWeak - the Beta only gave us a limited selection of gear, all at Legendary (and a couple of exotics), all at 200 light. We've seen blue gear drop above 200 light thanks to a bug on Xbox. We've seen that there's another new loot category possibly above Legendary. And they've said they're adjusting grenade damage and enemy health levels for PvE. We definitely won't feel this weak in the endgame. Slow - Yeah, that's probably not changing, sadly. Unreasonable cooldowns - Our cooldowns are the same as in D1 at tier 0 Intellect/Discipline/Strength. And none of the Beta gear increases cooldown speeds. But we've seen screenshots of gear that does. They definitely won't be this slow in the endgame. Ammo - They said they're increasing heavy ammo drop rates and making it so that certain enemies are guaranteed to always drop heavy ammo.
