Please stop with the "other games do 60fps" nonsense.

It's getting ridiculous now. All I'm seeing on here is people who don't know what they are talking about getting mad because other games (try to) run at 60fps. Let's take Battlefield 1 as the example because that seems to be all people are spouting on about: 60fps... the game barely manages to maintain anything close to that. Regularly dips as low as 30-40fps. It's frame rate dips so much the game just feels wrong even on PS4 Pro. It also uses dynamic resolution, which when the frame rate gets too low, makes the game look like sh*t in order to try and keep the fps high enough to not feel broken. Now you may find this difficult to see through your salt encrusted eyes but Destiny has always been graphically intense. And that doesn't just mean high resolution textures, before you start harping on about that too. The particle and lighting effects on Destiny are fantastic and look even better on Destiny 2. But there is a LOT of them, due to the space magic nature of the game. Destiny 1 is probably the smoothest most enjoyable 30fps experience I've had in a long time and hopefully Destiny 2 continues that trend with smoothness of feeling over attempting to run at 60fps. There's also the issue, that most you you seem to be forgetting... Parity: If the PS4 pro could run the game at 60fps But the PS4 could run the game at 30fps... Guess what guys, you're all getting multiplayer at 30fps regardless. Sony's Pro T&C's won't allow different frame rates in multiplayer games. (Quite rightly too) I'll take a smooth 30fps (something Bungie are clearly very very good at making smooth and a joy to play) over 60fps with rate drops and graphical fidelity drops all day long. Your games console is NOT as powerful as the marketing you have clearly been fooled by is making you think it is. Dedicated servers though.... that's a story for another day.

  • I've played a lot of battlefield won and haven't seen any frame drop even in 64 player game modes unless there are multiple cinematics happening at once like the behemoth being destroyed while loads of explosives go off. Bf1 runs consistent 60 fps in all other game modes and has the same if not more particle/lighting effects than destiny. The game is stunning. Saying that destiny is graphically intense is an exaggeration. All particle effects are not triggers by an event like blowing up a wall in rainbow and there's no physics to them. They're more like textures And saying destiny has detailed textures is an exaggeration as well. Destiny just doesn't have a hyper realistic art style.

  • No I want 90 fps with 8k textures on my Wii U or I'm not pre-ordering.

    • Actually dedicated servers and 60 fps really go hand in hand. Luke Smith and Mark Noseworthy clearly stated the issue is with the CPU, not the GPU on the PS4 pro, so remove the network (host)/AI/Physics overhead and offload to a dedicated server, and 60 fps becomes more of a reality.

      • Comparing bf1 to destiny? Bf1 single player campaign and smaller modes for multiplayer all run a solid 60 frames with only dips during graphically intensive moments. The dips never go below 50, the 32v32 maps do fall below 50 sometimes. They never go down to 30. Thats a bad comparison and u flat out exaggerated. Last i checked destiny 2 will be 4v4. Not 32v32. They can do 60. Bungie signed a deal with the devil, Activision. Its about turning out products, not quality.

        • Finally!!! I seriously said the same thing destiny 1 is gorgeous I really don't care about 60 fps, the devs said the PS4 pro couldn't handle the game... That makes sense. It's not Bungies fault, it's the system devs. I seriously can't wait until September 8.

          • I especially love the rock solid 30 fps when Oryx regains favor of darkness in King's Fall and some Nightstalker drops their super. It's such a solid 30 fps that it starts feeling like it's 10 fps. So rock solid. Also if Halo 5 can do consistent 60 fps then Destiny 2 should too. And one last thing, Xbox confirmed that XB1 and Scorpio don't require parity in terms of performance and fps so screw that argument too.

              • If you consider Destiny a smooth 30... No credibility points for you. I just want devs to prioritize 60 before anything else, especially in shooters. I could care less if the particle effects are marginally better, as long as the game is running incredibly smooth.

                • I just said in another threaded that I prefer smooth 30 to choppy up-to 60. Having said that, other games DO do 60fps, it's not nonsense!
s-blam!- 💩 doo-doo!
Honestly, who the hell cares about prettier particle effects and a coat of paint. Where is the evolution in the gameplay sequels usually offer? Also, when you take a new game on a newer engine and don't play destiny for months then come back, you see how sluggish and old the game feels. It's has great shooting mechanics but the game doesn't feel smooth.

                      • The fault is with Bungie not Sony. The PS4 Pro has games which look immeasurably superior to Destiny in every single way, make no mistake Destiny 1 is a PS3/360 game that runs at 1080p. Destiny 2 from every video I've seen looks exactly the same, this is 100% a Bungie issue if they can't optimise their game correctly, maybe they should contact some other developers that evidently can.

                      • What's really funny is most of you on the negative side of the Destiny 2 fence.... will buy the game anyway. Then probably spend the whole period the game is active complaining about the game you said you wouldn't buy. Let's just wait it out and see how It is I say.

                        • You know how this 60 vs 30 fps debate could be fixed? By giving us console players as many options for settings as pc. I know id rather play on low graphics and 60 fps then high and 30

                            • Yea, 30v60. oh no. They chose 30, You will play it at 30 on console. No sense complaining about it, its mostly a waste of time at this point. who cares that much. you lose out on that extra 'smooth' sensation. it looks fine

Graphically intense, you could run it on a PS3. Just look at the ground and see those low texture graphics,go up close to a rock and see those low texture graphics.the entire place is covered in them. Go and have a look at the plants straight out of 2005. After that bull you don't deserve to post again. Those particles let's see if that's just the pro.
