Especially when your company grossed 6 BILLION alone last year.
Face it. We're in for the same connection shit storm that plagued both pvp and pve. But hey atleast we have in game match making and treasure hunts!
Edit: Trending, yay
Edit: Still trending. Coz baby let's get pizza
Edit: can y'all please start using some logic for your argument? It's 2017 there's literally no excuse for your stupidity anymore.

1 ReplyThe reason bungie can't well other games do is simple. Sony. Alot of gaming companies that are smaller, yet use DS, use a special kind. They use ones made, operated, and maintained by MICROSOFT. Sony would never let do that. The only thing I'm confused about is how BO3 has DS. Cod really never did and people knew that after the big lag in BO2 then the other games not touching the idea of DS people seemed not to care. So idk what drove them to have that game get DS. Cause if they can buy and manage there own ACTIVISION should just make a HUGE SERVER FARM for all they're games. It be cheaper to just be like MICROSOFT and have a farm so large companies like BUNGIE that partner with ACTIVISION would pay an amount to use them, but at a cheaper cost.

2017 and no dedicated servers lmao

1 ReplyThere's no excuse for not having *private matches. There, I fixed it.
-
2 RepliesMaybe they're trying run you entitled little assholes off. Maybe they're sick of your incessant bitching. Maybe they realized pvp was killing their game and decided to purge you kids and your fragile egos from the community

I still think folks are gonna have to vote e their wallet on this issue. Guess that's all you can do. I don't play much pvp at all but i understand the issue w peer to peer very well.

Edited by Azure: 5/21/2017 12:59:43 PMIf they're going to FORCE us to have to connect to their servers (i.e. no offline mode) to play the game in the first place, then their servers should be doing most of the work. Dedicated servers all the way.
-
Well 1/3 of the players will be gone from the match. Since it's 4v4 the lag shouldn't be as bad. Not a huge fan of smaller teams though. I liked 6v6 a lot and was hoping for a big team battle type mode.
-
I beg to differ. I'm certain Bungie can give millions if reasons not to have dedicated servers. And they are all dollars.
-
d2 isn't even out and it's caused a shit storm but i have to agree you have had long enough to do this bungie and activison there's no need for piss poor excuses anymore the year is 2017 it's about time you upgrade your servers

3 RepliesMan why do people keep whining about this.. 90% of the players don't care and barely experience lag. Careful what you wish for, I'd rather they spend time making new content and pushing the bounds of our guardians powers to make the game even more interesting than it already is. Has the absence of a dedicated sever really affected you that much? They do a pretty good job of banning cheaters. I love the game and I want it to be the best it can be, just like you do, but I think we should be weary about reflecting a poorly set hierarchy of issues that need to be addressed. The list of things that I want to be included, fixed, or changed do not consider dedicated servers. I trust the team at Bungie know what is best for their game, but they do listen to us as a collective voice. Careful what you wish for, that is all. Good luck out there guardians.

19 RepliesI never had connection issues. Maybe your internet sucks? Same answer to anyone else who experienxes lag. Lets look at some other games with pier to pier: overwatch, most cods, division, need i go on?

2 RepliesPeer to peer is a joke, always has been, always will be. But it's cheaper for Bungie because they need the money guys, keep throwing it at the screen.
-
4 RepliesI stayed away from crucible simply because my internet was inferior which left me as a red bar, it was no fun, I was hoping for dedicated servers this time around, oh well, looks like no crucible for me again

3 RepliesThey just put up a video giving you the exact reason why.

Edited by Azur_Fenix: 5/21/2017 11:43:25 AMThere is ZERO excuses for it. But Activision. It wont ever happen. -blam!- Activision, But Bungie isnt guilt free ethier, they are just as -blam!-ing scummy and sneaky and greedy and anti consumer.
-
Stinginess and laziness are the excuses.

Not having dedicated servers for an AAA game at this level is absolutely insane, If they need help they can just go consult the sister company of Activision, Blizzard Entertainment certainly has the experience of hosting dedicated servers. Blizzard hosts the DEDICATED servers of World of Warcraft, Diablo, StarCraft, Overwatch and more. Bungie if some dudes at ESEA can build 120 tick servers I'm sure you can too!

Edited by Gracklepod: 5/21/2017 10:59:50 AMI truly dont know shit about gaming architcture. If D2 does not [edit: HAve] dedicated servers, will P2P gameplay be just as messed up on the PC version as D1 is on consoles? By that, I mean lag, DDOS..and so on?
-
If only people wont't pre-order and buy day one. But lets be honest, they will anyway and still get shafted, even though they knew they would.
-
1 ReplyThe best option for server hosting is Microsoft Azure, which is what games like Titanfall 2 use, but they can't do that because they have contracts with sony. if Xbox had the destiny exclusives, then it'd be dedicated servers by now, but sony wants to hold everyone back because of the playstation fegs.

7 RepliesIf Microsoft paid money to be partners with Bungie and Activision, we'd have dedicated servers. I'm not a pc player, but I mean at least pc should have them regardless. And why is is still PEER- TO PEER connection?
-
1 ReplyWho said there will be no dedicated servers?

I'll give you an excuse. ACTIVISION.
