I can see you guys are blowing Destiny 2 out of proportion. The ideas for an intro that anyone with half a brain knows won't happen.

Thank you! Honestly I'm getting annoyed by the whole Tower getting destroyed idea. It feels cheap and lazy to come up with. I'm sure Bungie has a idea already layed out.

I'm getting annoyed as well. Destiny has been established as a Power Fantasy now. We have this Legendary Status but people think that we'll die because the Canal will drop a Banana peel that we will slip on. For a Power Fantasy to work, the established God Protagonist must grow and experience things that they have never gone through before, whilst being reminded that they are a God character. Destiny 2 is in a unique position to accomplish this goal, having us fight mental battles with Savathûn and fighting an entire empire. The God Character must also be constantly confronted with threats as big as them, that's how a Power Fantasy is and that is what Destiny needs to survive.
