Here's the issue.
ANY pulse can be fixed by one stability perk, sometimes two, it doesn't matter if it's a Dragon, or a Waltz, or Grasp.
You Slap Rifle Barrel and Range finder onto a Gaharis-D? It's still not competitive. Despite it being in the same Archetype as Palindrome.
An AVERAGE base range hand cannon with no range boosting perks is worse than a Grasp type with no stability perks.
Then there's the hrof cannons. On paper these things should be beastly.
Same TTK and headshot ratio as a high RoF pulse, but due to the absolute garbage range and it's RoF hurting itself more than the other two archetypes, it outright can't be used. It's not like the other weapons with non-competitive weapons archetypes. high impact autos are "bad" because they have a bad TTK. mid-high impact pulses are "bad" because they have a bad TTK, mid-high pulses? ditto. Otherwise these weapons are actually some of the smoothest weapons to use.
high RoF hand cannons? it's because they're frustratingly inaccurate even with range boosting perks.

you realize grasp archtype aren't the only pulses... low RoF and mid RoF pulses suck rn too so don't pretend any pulse can be good with stability. watch any competent streamer use a luna or palindrome, people can wreck with HCs still, but then you have peopel who suck with them and spam their shots complaining about bloom
watch any competent streamer use a luna or palindrome
I've also watched competent streamers use the -blam!-ing Suros Regime, hardlight, Nirwen's Mercy and wreck shop. High skill players are not representative of the masses, you don't make mass decisions off a select few. Low RoF ones are merely hard to use, but can actually be quite good as they're they fastest killing primary weapon in the game. It's just demanding to use. The mid are actually smooth as silk. They're slow to kill, for sure, however they are CONSISTENT. Your shots will land. So Pulses have 2 fully competitive archetypes. One Archetype that is usuable, but takes a lot more skill. And one non-competitive archetype. Hand Cannons have 1/3 of a competitive archetype (because not even half the Palindrome type cannons can compete with palindrome). One Archetype simply cannot get enough accuracy to not be a detriment to the player. The other.. is pointless in the face of Mid impact hand cannons. Slow TTK. It's not that people suck with them. Bungie is the bloom poorly implimented. Other Weapons you KNOW if your out of range simply from damage falloff, and that if you start seeing it, and you go a bit further beyond that, your going to start missing. Hand Cannons can miss their shots within their effective range, even while doing full damage and having full effect of aim assist. Unlike the other weapons, you have absolutely ZERO visual representation of when your firing out of your weapon's perfect accuracy ranges. Simply bumping up the accuracy enough so that they cone of accuracy meets the damage falloff point will help resolve this issue. However even if the bloom changes was removed, the aggressive damage falloff would still hold Hand Cannons out of true range. , It would help teach lesser players to understand where exactly their range band actually is and allow some lesser ranged hand cannons to not throw their bullets in random directions even in the close range, while not being enough to push even Palindrome into low end pulse rifle range. Actually competing against pulses at their ranges, the damage loss essentially makes the Hand Cannon kill slower than a mid Pulse or Scout (so longer than 1 second) because it requires an additional shot even if all your hits are headshots, AND you've lost most of your aim assist at this range as well.

bro if you suck so much with hand canons just don't use them. tons of people still have tons of success with them, there's just actual skill required in regards to timing shots and not spamming. also don't bother typing out another novel im not looking to read your life's story smh

It's not timing, it's being close enough. Hand Cannons can miss on the first shot, even while in range. And I have tons of success with them. As reflected by my stats as my most used primary weapon. Recognizing a problem doesn't mean I'm suffering from it. Because I KNOW what to do to avoid the issue, but sometimes I kind of DON'T want to use Palindrome so that my bullets shoot straight. There's a number of cool rolls of Hand Cannons in my vault I simply can't seriously take out because, despite having riflebarrle on them, won't fix their accuracy issues enough to matter. If you don't want to discuss the issue, why are you even here? It's a problem that doesn't need to be there. This is a FEEDBACK forum.

if you have success then why are you bitching? if youre gonna bitch use another weapon, hand canons are fine right now and are more than viable in a skilled persons' hands. if you're arguing that meta weapons need a buff you need to try a new weapon for real.
