How The Hell Do You Guys Do It?
I've been playing since the beta and I consider myself a smart player with opportunities in crucible, but damn I am missing something. Skill. What do you guys do to get better and what do you work on. I'm ready to put this game away playing against 1.60 KD's on my 6th win in trials I feel like it's day one again.
I get better with better clan members but everyone comes and goes as usual.
What is the process to basically not getting your teeth kicked in every weekend and what did you guys do to get where you are?

Record your gameplay and see where you do well and where you can have improvement. If you see recurring mistakes you can correct it. It's hard to gauge your pvp play during a game

5 RepliesPlay, play, play. Care when you die, play 3v3 game modes and rumble which encourages the 1v1 situations and space awareness, watch the top players play the game and learn from them on twitch. Also having a low ping and having a monitor instead of a actual tv helped me out a lot.

Play with the same 2 other people every weekend. I've been playing with the same 2 guys since trials came out. We've come a long way from camping spawn or flag charging supers so we could abuse golden gun and use bubble to recharge it to now pushing the life out of teams.

It's like rapping dude. You got to think a few moves ahead. So before you even kill the guy you may be battling at the moment, you should already know where you are going after the kill. That way you leave no time for a straggler on the other team to just walk in and clean up what the previous guy couldn't. And always remember. If you are being chased and you are a little ahead of the guy. Run around a corner. Crouch to go off radar then jump over the door the guy is coming in never slide or walk back at the door. Most people don't expect you to be in the sky.

I just play a mix of shooters. So I tend to easily adjust to a new game and then i end up being a better than average player in that game. First of though, figure out the current meta for crucible and then tie that in with a gun you like and a style to play. I use pulse rifles and clever dragon at that because it shreds, i know the meta is running around with shotgun but i like using trespasser or a sniper. As for class ive always mained hunter because it suits me better with mobility and the skills it has (god i love throwing knife) Then i just hit my shots, make sure to play smart and that i cludes knowing when to challenge and back down. Map knowledge helps so you can make some good plays, get some good angles. Then theres some minor points like make sure you balance your three stats the way you want think of the perks you have for armor but just make sure it ftmits with your class, weapons and helps you with the skills you use most.

Idk man, I just kinda do whatever and it normally turns out pretty good. But I have quite a bit of experience, so that might not be what works for you. If you actually are interested in getting much better, then just start challenging everything, even if you're absolute or in a position that gives your enemy an advantage. If you can learn to come out on top even when placed in shitty situations, then you'll do great in most normal engagements.

2 RepliesHey tiger, here are a few things I have learned. - it's the win and not the kill that matters. - don't worry about coins, just put on a mercy. - destinytrialsreport.com - play with atleast 1 same person - play the orbs more then pushing the advantage - peak around corners by dancing (iam a shotgunner) - push hard and fast for the best point on the first round (don't let them think it's theirs for free). - don't plan on actually getting kills with heavy, ideally you finish before heavy appears, instead know that teams will converge towards heavy and use it to your advantage. - don't second guess gun fights, while exchanging fire. - don't run unless you need to, running lowers your gun and takes time to bring it back up to use. Walk when approaching. - holding X does not prevent you from firing, punching or activating grenades or supers. - try to not turtle, if the enemy splits up team up on the lone wolf, then play the orbs. - angles, lines of sight, and grenades should be used to move the enemy around, consider rotating about the map to move the enemy around as well. - CALLOUTS, learn them, make up a few and share them with teammates.

Personally I just gave up. I can't compete anymore. I was at a 1.5 and drop to 1.3 Doesn't seem like much but the amount of time I've played...it takes a shit load of suck to drop it that far. Definitely lost any sort of skill I had But oh well. I still have fun drinking and playing with a few friends and love playing bubble time with my lovely lady so it's not to bad

3 RepliesThis word I'm about to use might sound too serious for a video game, but you have to: Study. Also, I suggest Rumble. That playlist will help you focus on yourself. It's a great way to gauge where you are on gun skill, map awareness, positioning, timing, and decision making. You want true improvement? You have to put in the time. Good luck guardian. P.s. 100 wins in Rumble is a fantastic milestone to go for. You'll learn a lot.

We give detailed callouts, not just saying, " Over there."

Hell, I just want to play for bounties and to finish a card as a scrubby casual. Can't even get a crew together long enough to lose a full card.

Forget everything you've learned in previous shooters. Team matches in this game are in reality just FFA's, where the most agressive players tend to win. I for one will never be able to adjust to it so I avoid it.

Play aggressive. Playing campy doesn't make you get better, although it makes it easier to win. Aggressive players are always better, despite not being favoured in trials. But it'll make you a better player faster. Aggressive players can play aggressive and passive. Passive players generally suck and crumble against good teams.
