Today is reset, so expect to see the recruitment section full of lame people requiring "experienced raiders" who must be 380+
For instance I already see a guy who's requiring 385 light and equating that with "raid experience" but has only done Vault of Glass twice. Done Crota once. He doesn't have the Relic of the Aegis grimoire card meaning he's never picked up the relic in VoG. For the veterans here we do not consider those the credentials of an experienced raider, you're just an experienced grinder.
My team did WotM with our friend who was 347 light this past weekend, it was easy for him to hold his own and pick up on mechanics because he's an experienced raider. Only two on our team were 380+.
People like to talk crap on grimoire ("nothing but ghost shells") but when I'm recruiting raiders that's the first thing I look at.
TL;DR it's all in the hips
Happy raiding, and if anybody wants to run WotM if I'm not on with my usual team I'm down, add johnd_oh on PS4

1 ReplyI don't always go on LFG for raid groups but seems that everytime I do, people like this exist. They're either no-life sweaty tryhards or low end scrubs looking to get carried. Apparently there is no such thing as "in- between" when it comes to LFG.

Someone who finally sees it, but you know, ignorance is bliss.
-
8 RepliesAll I ask is that if you join my fireteam, you accept stupidity, randomness, and Russian accents.
-
All my toons are 385 an didn't do the raid yet it's not hard too get the required light lvl just play the game
-
15 RepliesLight level doesn't, grimoire does ;)
-
When I use lfg with 380+ ppl it seems like ppl do strats easier than lower light ppl, some ppl just run around like a chicken with their head cut off ......

Edited by PizzaMan725: 10/13/2016 2:41:56 AMGood communication and teamwork is the only thing needed to beat a raid successfully. Without that nothing else matters.
-
I got 385 from IB, I don't know crap about the raid.
-
Couldn't agree more I'm coming up to being bare minimum requirements to do the new raid but yet constantly seeing posts about experienced etc I'm Not an amazing player yet I'd say I'm average done plenty of raiding been off destiny last 7-8 months good to be back but it's great seeing people like you willing to give us unexperianced WoTm raiders a chance and help us reach that light level and "experience" all these guys want . All about the great destiny community helping each other out love it.
-
Agree and disagree, guy probably was a taken tot, so he did the VoG and Crota once or twice for the completion and grimoire/satisfaction. Although he wouldn't be as experienced in all of destiny mechanics, if he did kings fall a lot, you can't discredit him there.
-
3 RepliesIt's true. I used to raid all the time, every week, did VoG tons of times, CE a handful, and lots of Kings Fall as well. Since then, all of my close friends have moved on to other games, so I've been grinding slowly and alone. Just hit 380, yet I haven't even touched the new raid. I'm disappointed, I really miss raiding, but LFG groups are just ridiculous sometimes.

Edited by Emi: 10/13/2016 1:34:22 AMUsually when people say "experienced" they mean for the raid they are asking for...
-
7 RepliesBut it's the next best thing to go with since you can't objectively measure skill. I'll take my chances with a 385 before a 362 in the new raid. Sorry.

Edited by Nnoremac: 10/13/2016 1:26:16 AMSure light level doesn't equal experience. But you have to have some requirement to atleast increase those odds. And light level really is the best. Unless you want something like " must have done raid 10 times" Also light level does equate to damage I like killing the first boss in 2 damage phases and the final boss in 2-3. Which is what happens when we are all 380+ Edit: experienced raider? Playing destiny raids don't make you experienced raider I've never really done vog except once ( didn't play much year 1) and I have more raiding experience than most probably
-
1 ReplyWhat I got from this, is that Vault of Glass now is the ultimate way to tell if someone has Raid experience, and that Grimoire also counts towards experience. First, any Raid counts toward Raid experience. Don't just check how many times the person has done VoG, check how many times they've Raided. Second, Grimoire for the most part basically is just grinding or searching. Of course, there are Grimoire Cards for Raid bosses, but don't count someone's overall Grimoire score for their Raid experience.
-
That's why you're so low
-
1 ReplyLol, I actually had to check and see if I actually had the relic grimoire from VoG. I didn't pick it up often usually only if a teammate died......
-
8 RepliesRaid team wanted Mic required must be 5, 000, 000 light. Ghorn and raze lighter equipped at same time OBVIOUSLY. 250000000000 raid completions with kd of 750.3 with 10000 grimoire. Join on me I'm a 339 hunter 😉

You might want to check your wording, but I believe what you are trying to say is... Nerf shotguns.
-
I havent playes much cause of Hurricane Matthew knocking out power but looking at posts like that make me laugh cause 9 times oit of 10 thoae are the ones who die first with in 5min of raid starting lol
-
Scrubs become very active on reset day.
-
1 ReplyI've been with people who've never done VOG and they were light level 335 (before ROI) lol Was fun teaching people how to do VOG
-
Light level doesn't equal experience, that's true. But if I want something hard work done I think I'll go with the super jacked monster over the average guy. Especially if it involves hitting something very hard.
-
but also, what if that dude just started playing yr 2 and doing crota/vog? that doesn't mean they're not experienced with WotM. but of course if ur looking for someone to do an old raid that would make sense
