Multiple times since RoI released, my buddies and I have geared up and jumped into the new environments and fought the forces of darkness, always coming out victorious and better for it. However, we have all had issues, particularly whilst in the basic strike playlist, with finding primary ammunition. This is mostly with scouts and hand cannons but I have also ran out of ammo for my khvostov and Grasp of Malok. Perhaps we just didn't run over every dead body but we are all pretty good about moving around and finding ammo when we need it. It just seems to us as if it is happening quite often. As much as ten times is a ten minute strike and as little as never if the conditions are right. Just figured I'd put it out there and see if anyone else has seen this issue as well.
Edit: This is only since Rise of Iron dropped, and I'm noticing it more with only specific weapon archetypes and perhaps it has to do with console. The jury is still out on whether anything really changed or if maybe the changing into new armor is part of the culprit.

12 RepliesThere is no lack of primary ammo on pve
-
There is absolutely no lack of ammo. It is all user error.
-
The only primary guns I ever have an ammunition issue with are either A) Tlaloc B) Handcannons Tlaloc seems to burn through ammo quickly... it seems to have a small reservoir considering how fast it can shoot. Handcannons... it's been a LONG while since I've played them. But I recall having the occasional ammo issue.

Edited by G24C: 10/10/2016 9:15:17 PMThis happens mostly with hc, high rate of fire autos and pulse rifles. Since they nerfed ammo in crucible. Bungies answer was to give you ammo across the map ONLY if you are completely out of All ammo! This does you no good in raid activities or certain parts of strikes. It is typical of how PVP nerfs changes PVE. BUNGIE knows this but doesn't care.

It would be nice if we had infinite primary ammo, I've run out of ammo so many times( and yes I'll be running around but non will be dropping) cabal area in prisons is were I got hot the hardest, well that and vog lol

5 RepliesEdited by Muka Gatals: 10/7/2016 8:47:32 PMIs that funny this is a shooter game...but no bullets...!! Its kinda racing game...have good car...but no gas... I guess they want to extend the game play by not giving us bullets instad making adequate contents.

It's bad in the raid. Most strikes you keep moving, but boss fights often keep you sitting still, and the ammo is all across the room, in a mass of ads.
-
its a bug since ttk. its rare. fixed by usually going to orbit and back

1 ReplyAmmo drop rates are affected significantly by which weapon you used to kill an enemy. Heavy kills will rarely ever drop more heavy ammo, but will rain primary/special. Special kills frequently drop primary and occasional heavy, but more special is also occasional. Primary kills will drop lots of special and occasional heavy, but primary can get scarce if you don't have reserve-boosting perks on your armor. One workaround I use for this is just using high-impact Firefly weapons. The explosions they cause sometimes re-proc on corpses already exploded & deals tons of dmg to remaining enemies. My 2 weapons I see this happen fairly often on are my Omolon Uffern HC4 and DO Keystone-01. I've once even had everything set up perfectly for a single Firefly proc the scattered corpses and 1-shot a major Vandal, in the raid no less. Sheer luck, really, but is otherwise fun to watch corpses turn into firecrackers.

3 RepliesHow are you missing so many shots? Can't remember the last time I ran out of primary ammo, and I main Handcannons... Only thing I'm short on is Secondary ammo. Only because I cant use Invective with my First Curse.
-
rarely do I ever have this issue and that's only because I forgot to pick up ammo off the floor.

1 Replyprimary syth are a thing yenno
-
Bungie has to find ways to stretch out what little content they offer so don't expect much knowing Bungie has the best nerfing team in gamming history.
-
Most frequently a problem with hand cannons and scout rifles, especially the exotics.

1 ReplyThank god I'm not the only one. It seems like juggler is on in all pve activities. In archons forge is where I notice it the most. Half of the time I have to bitch slap enemies to death.
-
Isn't playing a shooter without ammo FUN?!?!?! #Sarcasm....
-
I've noticed it at times also. Mostly during heroic strikes. Often times left with having to punch everything for awhile.
-
No its not just you I've noticed that too
-
2 RepliesI've had this a lot in the new raid. Especially during the Aksis fight
-
I think it's just hand cannons. Usually everything else is just fine IMO.
-
Yeah I'm in the same boat man running out of ammo pretty frequently mostly during strikes. Juggler is maybe glitched out
-
1 ReplyEdited by PapaSohan: 10/7/2016 3:06:34 PMI never seem to have this problem. Not since VoG days where I used TDYK and the ammo drop rates were different. Enemies were fewer and stronger and ammo was hard to come by. Nowadays I am never lacking for ammo except when juggler is active and I forget to switch.

Some handy suggestions: - Run a lot of old Kings Fall raid (lots of primary ammo synth in there); - Stop killing too much; - Do as everyone else is doing and shotgun the @#$ out of 'em; - Rush to end of strike, don't waste ammo and GG.
Or get better aim and stop shooting walls/ceiling.
That is weird. The only time I have had problems with primary ammo in PvE was at the beginning of Year 2 when Bungie nerfed the reserve ammo capacity of Hand Cannons. Using Hawkmoon resulted in constantly needing to look for primary ammo. It has been fine since they fixed that issue for me.

4 RepliesEdited by HyperVigiIant: 10/7/2016 9:49:07 AMIt seems to be a glitch. For a little while during a PVE activity, ammo won't drop at all. This even happens in PVP sometimes, namely with handcannons.
