I think that's the point though. Being alone, feeling alone as you journey, explore, and discover through the vastness of the universe. That's kind of what sold the game to me.

Yeah, but after a time the whole collecting materials seems repetitive. If you had some friends with you, it would seem more interesting to me.

If I want to relax and float around a planet, learn an alien language or go galaxy hopping, (even enter a black hole) I'll.. hop.. on NMS. To each their own. :)
