No matter what the archetype, every hand cannon is a three shot headshot kill on almost all armor types excluding low rof hand cannons on low armor opponents.
With scout rifles, high rof needs 5 headshots for a kill, medium needs 4, and low needs 3.
Also while I'm at it, why is it that high rof hand cannons and the last word have the same rof stat wise, but the last word's rof is much higher than them in reality??
Give high rof hand cannons a slightly higher rof than they already are, and make them a three headshot 1 body shot kill, keep medium rof hand cannons where they are, and make low rof hand cannons slightly lower rof, and make them a two shot headshot kill.
Edit: look at pulse rifles. Pdx-45 vs Nirwen's. PDX will always win. And the only legit low rof pulse rifle we have is the spare change .25, which was said in a bungie stream to be able to 2 shot headshot kill people, but people don't use it due to the fact that you need every bullet to hit the head or else it becomes one of the worst weapons in the game.

1 ReplyAs far as primary weapons go, handcannons do the most damage with the least amount of bullets expended. The lowest impact archetype obviously meets the three shot kill threshold. If the higher impact handcannons took less shots to kill then that would be completely broken. The difference in the Handcannon archetypes are very blurred in comparison to the rest of the weapon types in the game.
neo was going to be played by will Smith , Smith decided not to take the part saying he thought he would mess it up. He then gave props to Reeves who on turn made it into what it is today. 4 RepliesI ask the same thing with snipers. Whats the point of low inpact snipers when the high inpact snipers handle like the weight is a bag of empty potatp chips. All the snipers can kill you in two body shots, and the handling speed of all them allows you to body shot then switch to a primary. Whats the point of even having low impact snipers?

The answers pretty clear- because bungie doesn't want hand cannons two shotting people in PvP off of base stats. I expect nerfstiny to continue to live up to its year 2 legacy soon with further nerfs to Hawkmoon and LITC to combat this. They might hit eyasluna as well. For the record I agree that low ROF hand cannons need some upside to using them (such as greatly enhanced range) but there never really has been one. They simply kill too slowly and bungie would never allow hand cannons, no matter what archetype, to have the range to effectively challenge scout rifles. And last word is full auto that's why it shoots faster than other hand cannons of its archetype.

Because a two headshot kill would be ridiculously overpowered. That's why.

2 RepliesI dont get how the High RoF scouts have the same impact as MIDA but are a 5 shot and not 4. Smh

The short answer is so thorn doesn't appear OP
just a guess
Too many perks for bonus damage on HC's. As damage goes they are fine.

Edited by ReticentHope417: 7/26/2016 9:25:56 PMI think of higher impact hand cannons just being able to increase their range through damage fall off

13 Replies2 shot headshot?! No tfc needs to stay where its at. Its so easy to double tap people in the head. Its the ttk that makes the 3rd shot harder. I love tfc right where its at

5 RepliesThorn used to be a 2 headshot kill... lol

Impact, lucky round, reactive reload. That should sum it up for you. Now F.O.
