I follow DO because having a contingent population away from the Sol system is just smart. Not everyone needs to leave just enough for a colony. FWC and NM can keep fighting for the home worlds. There must be other sources of Light beyond our borders that we can exploit for power.

NM: A bunch of bumbling polititions who decide rather than focusing on the paracausal power of vex, the countless number of eliksni, the ceaseless hive, or the cabal empire; we should abolish the concensus and give all power to one monarch who DEFINITELY won't go power hungry and become a tyrant. Because Dead Orbit's ideology is the most logical. Both the Vex and FWC have foreseen the destruction of the Tower and the Traveler. Why fight an enemy that we are doomed to lose to? Why not settle elsewhere and minimize casualties? We can eventually reclaim our solar system when we are much stronger and have better technology.

Basically they are the only ones truly concerned with humanitys existence as a species. While the others want to stay and establish rule, or keep fighting the good fight. Dead orbit understands that as a whole unless we disperse, regroup, and then rethink our strategy we will be dead. Earth is dying, the darkness is getting stronger despite the fact were keep killing its champions. Also the traveler is too suspicious to continue trusting. Dead orbit has a quote along the lines of "Why should our light be confined to a tower?" Think about it, the fallen are only alive because they left their home world, and spread out to not get wiped out.
