I just bought the Xbox One bundle a couple of days ago. I'm interested to see what the console will be able to do. I'm curious about the price, but it also doesn't come out for a year.

1 ReplyI don't like scorpions
-
2 RepliesI bought my Xbone for 500$ And I already have a nice 1080p tv I will NOT be buying a 4K tv so I don't need the Scorpio and also I have a 4TB external hard drive so I'm fine

1 ReplyThis dude should be the mascot/logo for the console.
-
3 RepliesI'm interested but I don't want it to shorten the life of Xbox one, which it will. If it's as good as it is meant to be then they'll have to leave Xbox one behind in order to progress. If I was Microsoft (I have no business sense this is just an opinion) I would sell Scorpio at a loss in order to populate the console market and hopeful gain back sales they lost to Sony.

1 Replyim curious about the name choice... why scorpio? why use that name in particular? there has to be some significance behind it

If it can truly play at 4k and at least 30 fps at launch then im all for it even tho i have a pc console gaming at that level on the couch will be cool kinda wanna see what battlefield 1 is gonna look like on it gonna be surreal

My thinking is this: the only way I'll buy it is if 1. It will be affordable (in the $500 range), and capable of 4k gaming, not just video. And 2. If it runs Windows (meaning, I can run steam/battle.net/whatever ea's launcher is, and use a mouse and keyboard with it). Basically, I'll only buy it if it's a more affordable 4k gaming computer. If not I'll just stick to my xb1 and gaming laptop.

I'm liking the idea of playing in 4K on console and having a good VR experience. Better hardware and more options for console gamers can only be a good thing.

I'm pretty damn interested in it.

7 RepliesI really want to know more before I have a solid opinion, what I really want to know is it's price, unless they got some groundbreaking tech or there selling PS4K and Scorpio at a loss, you will not get a 4K console for $400-500, it will not happen. And if it goes higher then 500, your honestly better off buying a decent PC

8 RepliesThey didn't release a lot of information and to me it seems like they don't even know what they want to do with it. They've made it clear they won't catch Sony this generation so it is a new generation of console then? They didn't say it was... Like other MS projects as of late (ie. Kinnect) it feels like it lacks focus or direction.

Edited by bFLY: 6/16/2016 6:44:19 PMSeems cool, I won't get it though. I just bought my xbone last July, I will not be buying another console 2 years in a row, when I have a perfectly good console already lol. I just want fun and different games, I don't care about specs, which in my opinion don't make a game fun. I'm also not buying a 4k TV so that's a feature I'll never use even if I bought Scorpio. I'll leave the drooling over teraflops to the pc fanboys.

Depending on the price tag

Xbox master console.

I likes it. Im a console guy. So a console 4k gaming makes me real happy
-
If it's got good hardware at a good price than I think it'll benefit everyone. There's still the matter of xbox live though.

Edited by DopiestPayload: 6/16/2016 2:28:39 PMThe way I see it, I'm glad as a gamer we will have options of what console we want to buy, as long as games are compatible with whatever console we are playing on. If your Ballin on a budget, go with the xbox one or one s/ps4 got stacks to drop get a Scorpio/Neo and massive 4k TV. Got fat stacks to drop, build a pc so you have access to pc and xbox/Microsoft exclusives. I've seen alot of discussions saying this is bad, but I honestly think this is good for gaming and gamers to have more options.

8 RepliesA lot of concerns; 1. The difference in power between the Scorpio and the current console is, allegedly, massive so the potential of Scorpio exclusive content games is there especially when MS have said that developers can use the extra power on whatever they may want. 2. Price of the console AND the need to have a 4K TV to see the benefit. 3. Developers/publishers how they utilise this extra power, how much development time will be spent on creating a true 4k game and how this affect the price and how much content goes into the game. I do get the excitement around this new console and the prospect of this extra power but I have the feeling it's too early for 4K games, the technology is there clearly but is it financially viable to create a 4K game without a massive price hike which is already expensive. Of course all this is pure speculation and I'm no expert in how all this will work but it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I'll be getting neo instead
