Would you bow down to an alien empire?
If an alien empire whose technology was far superior then human's, came to earth and demanded that we give them our allegiance and join their empire or die...
Would you be willing to join their empire?

Also, if you say no or depends, why? On what condition would you join?

Obviously if its slave labor camps no... But really if they just want loyalty to the empire and a ban on space based weapons to oppose them in return to technology like replicators holodecks near infinite energy generating technologys sure.... Thinking about it the world actually did ban space based weapons in the 80s and after that the internet and computer technology went through the roof sooo we might have already done it and we are getting tech slower to ease adaptation.

In "Independence Day" the world didn't choose to bow to alien empire. The human race won and furthered themselves technology wise from the salvaged alien ships.

We fight each other everyday and we have been for centuries why would the intervention of an other race stop us? If anything it would start it all, fighting over if we should help the aliens or kill them or to take their resources or share ours.The empire would be thrown into disarray as it erupts in to civil war.
