I'm going to start this by saying I could honestly not care less about anyone who feels differently about this lol.
So Bungie can change an entire melee for a subclass by increasing damage output and range as they did for every Titan. They can even decrease damage output and effective radius as they did for the Hunter's Arcbolt grenade. But they have elected to keep the Warlock's Fierbolt grenade as is. The most ridiculous, overpowered grenade in the game and they make no changes whatsoever. If you're going to tell me they couldn't decrease the effective radius of the grenade, influence how many targets it could damage at once, decrease its initial damage output, decrease the amount of DOT damge or the time it remains effective for, then I am calling BULLSHIT. They buffed all Titan melees, they nerfed two aspects of the Hunter Arcbolt grenade. They are electing to keep the most overpowered grenade in the game intact. They lied about not being able to make a single change to it. They are lazy, and lying to the community by saying there is nothing they could do to change Firebolt grenades is a genuine insult. You people are a joke.
Again, anyone who feels differently is quite simply wrong.

I think people like you still don't get why Firebolt is unchanged. Well let me explain
again
Why do you want nerf the damage, the Grenade itself is weaker then the Arcbolt. As the guy in the stream told us, that Build is all that Sunsingers got, nerfing it means to completly break the Subclass itself. If you still don't understand unchanged things, well then..
Cry in the corner.
decrease the effective radius of the grenade
It has the same radius as Arc bolt, less than Lighting Grenades and Axion. Coincidentally, the last two deal more damage than Firebolt.
influence how many targets it could damage at once
3 targets... Maximum. Several others can deal more damage to more targets at once.
decrease its initial damage output
85 damage, so you want to make it weaker?
decrease the amount of DOT damge
Firebolt does not apply DOT damage. Please get your facts straight before nerf herding.

2 RepliesHeyy i remember you. You used to play with us back in the vex appeal days. How have you been? In regards to your post. I agree 100% But i think you are in for some roasting by these keyboard warriors man.

Lmfao oh this community.

19 RepliesNope. You're wrong. The numbers don't support you. The developers don't support you. 80% of the community doesn't support you. -blam!- this relativity "what's true for me" shit.. You're wrong, in every possible way. Expert opinion? You're wrong. Statistical analysis? You're wrong. Popular vote? You're wrong. Bye.

You're wrong and salty.
-
The the "most ridiculous overpowered grenade in the game" and it can't even 1 hit kill.
-
2 RepliesI don't think firebolt is close to OP, but I do agree with you in calling bullshit on the fact they couldn't do anything to it. They simply chose not to.
-
5 RepliesFirebolt + Touch of Flame + Viking Funeral still will not kill a guadian by itself.... the DoT is nothing more than an annoyance..... there are grenades that only take one use to kill a full health guardian under circumstances: Pulse Grenade, Voidwall Grenade, Spike Grenade, Vortex Grenade, Lightning Grenade, Solar Grenade, Scatter Grenade, and all attachable grenades............ and yet Firebolt which at its fullest potential still wont bring down a guardian is the most complained about grenade..........................

9 RepliesYour wrong, Fusion grenades. They stick and guaranteed kill. Plus you can use two, so quit being a noob and deal with it.

1 ReplyA little stubborn on the forum post there space cowboy.... look, the reason firebolts werent nerfed is because alot of the sunsingers abilites rely on DoT mechanics. So if anythimg was to be changed. Bungie would have to rework the subclass at its core. Bungie provided as small tone down on the flame shield, and made other options more viable, which was basically the core intention of the update. Look at sunsingers as a whole. After flame shield and fireborn get nerfed. The only real crutch they will have, which every class has at least one, are the DoTs. Bladedancers have blink and quickdraw. Voidwalkers have blink and a much stronger energy drain as of the update. Stormcallers have their super. Defenders have suppressor grenade. Strikers have shoulder charge. Sunbreaker have 1 hit kill potential with their super, the hammer has enough damage that it kills in one hit, provided that hit is direct contact. Nightstalkers have shadestep, smoke grenades, and enhanced trackers. Gunslingers have tripmines. And what do sunsinger have after the 12th? Firebolts.. everything else that you can point out aside from those is getting tweaked. So quite frankly, you saying that anyone else's opinion is wrong, well, looks like you jinxed yourself.

2 RepliesIts only OP with the viking funeral and touch of flame combo. Without it its mediocre.
-
2 RepliesFunny how so many players, in this post as well, that are against a Sunsinger tweak all run the same subclass with the very same perk set up that everyone is so angry about?
-
1 ReplyI once was in trials and both my teammates died and were well protecting by all 3 members of the opposing team. I chucked a firebolt grenade in the room they were in and tagged all three then proceeded to spam mida shots into the room cuz i knew i only had to hit them each once to the body for them to burn out. Easiest clutch of my life. The grenades are overpowered guys. Be real here. I'm amazed they are being untouched yet sniper scopes are being changed! Really bungo?!!!

Edited by Soul_Eater_42: 4/7/2016 4:46:25 AMAs they stated, and it's a point I myself have considered long ago, if they were to nerf Firebolt Grenades, or Viking Funeral, the real target of everyone's ire, it would require them to reconstruct the entire, or rather, an entire portion of the subclass, given the main purpose of the subclass's offensive abilities is to burn your enemy's defenses. Of course, reconstructing it shouldn't really be that much trouble. Even I've thought of viable changes that would keep the subclass effective, but less irritating to other players. For instance: --Having Sunburst increase the explosive radius of the grenades, and increasing the duration of Solar Grenade, much like Annihilate and Vortex Mastery --Having Flame Shield activate on kill, but increasing its strength, and not wasting a melee charge until it actually kills, similar to the Defender's Force Barrier. --Solar Wind having an AoE knockback effect that damages and ignites surrounding enemies. It would push enemies about half the distance a Taken Phalanx can. --Having Brimstone cast an explosion on hit that blinds, damages, and ignites surrounding enemies. --Having Viking Funeral grant the defense debuff of the Sunbreaker's Melting Point to enemies hit by any of your abilities while Radiance is active --Radiant Will granting increased recovery for you and nearby allies while Radiance is active. It would also allow Radiance to recharge faster, much like the Gunslinger's Gunfighter perk. These would have all been reasonable changes that would make Sunsinger more flexible, and less overwhelming with only one setup.

It's my opinion, but the fire bolt grenade sucks compared to the fushion grenade.
-
7 RepliesThey just need to do something with burn + viking funeral
-
Finally someone said it

Hahaha sucks for you, So you are on of those who never found out how to counter it? Did you know you can just jump before the grenade hits the ground and nothing will happen to you? Im glad bungie said screw you and your damn nerfs
