Microsoft had the chance but thankfully they turned it down. They knew all the talent was leaving or had left already. Microsoft will have huge cross platform reach with Windows 10 soon, sucks to be Bungie.
-
"Get the full Destiny experience only on PlayStation."
-
1 ReplyI think it's Bungie giving MS the middle finger over whatever drove them apart. Seems to me MS was what was keeping the Halo games from going off the rails if this is what Bungie's products are like before polishing.
-
2 RepliesSony was like "here's some money, give our players more shit" Bungie responded "ok"
That's exactly how it went down

Exactly.
-
1 ReplyIt would suck more for xbox if this game was cross platform multilayer
-
1 ReplyIt was the fallout with Microsoft and bungie. So Bungie decided to kiss up to foreign co sony. And we xbox users became collateral damage as a result. This is basically what I understand. I could be totally wrong.
-
What's up with that all the xbox owners still complain to the playstation owners that's what's wrong with that go to microsoft
-
If it was owned by Sony it likely wouldn't be on the Xbox at all.
-
Halo exclusive to Xbox and computer
-
Edited by Mizo: 4/6/2016 7:09:25 AMThey payed extra for exclusives.
Logic? IN BUNGIE FORUMS!?
-
29 RepliesSony payed money just like activison pays for cod and ea pays for battlefield and ubisoft payed for the division. Its nothing new. Sega payed interplay for exclusive content back in the day with earthworm jim. Get over it
-
6 RepliesWas there a new announcement other than the new exotic sniper I missed or something?
-
4 RepliesThink of it as we are the guinea pigs in testing crappy strikes and missions.
-
1 ReplySony gave Bungie some money to cut content out of the game on XBox. Wait, no, I think that would be illegal under US bribery laws. I guess Sony paid for some more content then.
-
How many times do we have to say this? Sony payed more money for the exclusives. You want to whine? Go complain to Microsoft. There is nothing you can do now though. Playstation players have always gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to exclusives. The one time we finally get something (besides Black Ops 3 DLC) the world falls apart. Grow up.
-
3 RepliesAren't there just 500 xbox one owners worldwide? Makes sense for Bungie to make an exclusivity-deal with Sony.
-
1 ReplyRemember that Microsoft used to own bungie.... There may very well still be some bad blood or resentment over how the split happened. Usually, no matter how amicable things seem from the outside, there could easily still be some kind of lingering animosity there. And I say bungie......but actually, it's Activision that made these deals with the console manufacturers, and if you think about it, which company had more to gain by having the "exclusive" deal? Until destiny, Playstation users had no experience with bungie, while Microsoft already had a built in bungie fan base. So when making the deal for which company was going to get the "exclusive" content, it only makes sense that for the same amount of money, Sony got much more value out of the deal than Microsoft would have. And just to be clear, I am an Xbox player, and I am against all console exclusives....in destiny, and in games where Microsoft pays for them....... It's just a money grubbing tactic, and does nothing but hurt the gamers on both sides.
-
Shouldn't have bought a brokebox1 Playstation for life
jk i think exclusives are stupid too
-
Don't for get Xbox did it first
-
1 ReplySony wanted to pay more for some exclusives for their players. Microsoft decided "-blam!- that, our customers want an entertainment system not a videogame console" and thus, didn't get any exclusives. It's a year later and they've finally realized that gamers want to play games so now they're trying to get a bunch of exclusives. But they missed out on Destiny. Sucks for those who bought Xbox.
-
1 ReplyWow, what a new and refreshing topic..
-
Money....if you were offered a heap load of cash to screw over your fan base, knowing that they don't like but will still buy your product, you are going to take the cash. Don't kid yourself, you and everyone else would. It's a pretty minimal "fuck you" I'm the grand scheme of things.
-
2 RepliesSony I believe payed more in production and partnerships with bungie. Much like how halo used to be Microsoft exclusive. I don't know any specifics
-
13 RepliesDESTINY has been advertised as getting full experience ONLY ON PLAYSTATION. its business.
-
15 RepliesMicrosoft new this game was trash so bungie had to go to actavishon and sony didn't know how bad this game was and gave them money
-
It's a business deal. Get over it.
