Why I quit Destiny and why you should too.

For some that know me, I was top 10 worldwide player for KDR and WLR for the first several months of the game. The game was my passion although it was overall utterly disappointing from the start. To continue playing this game, is a crime for future gaming. To support this platform new Bungie upholds is to just as well uphold scamming, false advertising and to allow all other, future games to be paved in the same egregiousness. From the start, new Bungie hasn't listened. They clearly don't care about anything more than your money. Remember Halo? They gave out free maps on Bungie day, showed us how a community can really be, and the forums were never this murky. Now we are spit on with disappointment and the only thing they can do is lie to us to get us to stay and play. I had enough. This type of disrespect for players, if continued, will lead to a seriously awful future for gaming, I'm afraid. I quit this game 3 moths ago, and I've loved playing Runescape again among others. List of grievances: -No custom games at launch or even a year into the game -Complete RNG everywhere in order to extend playtime after cutting up the vanilla content into DLC packages (then lying about it), rather than more meaningful content. -Lack of proper PR communication -Took 8 months to fix the Blink/Thorn/TLW year 1 meta. Then it returned after 3 months of PvP balance because they gave hand cannons their accuracy back, completely knowing what they were doing. -Sunsinger still hasn't been balanced at all since vanilla. -Egregious DLC system -Implementing micro transactions to bolster a live team. Not only does Bungie have plenty millions to spare to simply hire more content creators, this was just a lie for more money. If you don't believe me, look at every live event created thus far, they are all endorsements for more micro transactions. Wanted that blue flaming skull? Money. Wanted the SRL book? Money. No live events have been standalone free to play content. They've all been pumped with RNG and use your money to skip their RNG process. -Not listening to your players, seemingly ever, unless a glitch favors the players. In that case, immediate priority. -Year one content made completely obsolete -there's plenty more, but I fear no matter how much I say your mind is already made up. Good luck guardians. Do we really want another Destiny anywhere else in the gaming world? Maybe we like the shooting and the fun Destiny is, but that's not my point whatsoever. It's the way Bungie handles the game.

      • I never post but I thought this was necessary There are a lot of players here who give you shit, those being die hard fanboys. I do like to see pro's and con's to Destiny. Sure it may have its moments but it has its good qualities as well. Sure I'll give Destiny 2 the benefit of the doubt but sooner or later more will come to reap your money (or parents money since this is a teen rated game now) lets just enjoy it for what it is. I won't say which side I partake on this. I like to be a neutral ground here. That is all!

          • I hate you, I don't care about what k/d you had or any shite like that, I don't care. I play this game because I WANT TO. I WANT a Destiny 2. And then a Destiny: The presequel, and then tales of the Destiny, and then a Destiny 3. Stop spreading your shitty opinions all over the forum, if you don't like the game don't play, don't try to take people with you like you're doing them a service, douche.

          • You had me until the sunsinger not being balanced part. While im pretty biased cause I love the class. The class has so many useless perks you cant blame anyone for using the same perks. Flame shield is balanced fine to me but theres no other melee perk to use. Burn grenades need a nerf

            • Yes, I'd love another Destiny. I find it to be a fun game. Just because you say you are good and maybe you do know all the game has to offer, that doesn't mean you have any right to tell me to stop playing. You're bored of it? Cool. You think it sucks? Cool. I couldn't give any less shits. I will play this game because I think it is fun, and there is absolutely nothing you can do to change that.

            • If you think it's fun then I don't see why you shouldn't play it. If you don't then simply don't play, you shouldn't tell people what to do and not to do especially if it's about playing a video game

            • Haven't logged in or leveled or bought ttk, felt the sting of the nerf bat one to many times (all pvp centric). The day they split the meta's will be the day they get my investment in the franchise back. Till then I'm perfectly content investing in other games and signing onto destiny few and far between to fire off a couple gally and fatebringer shots. Apart from the pve/pvp thing, something at destiny's core bothers me... They (bungie) encourage the grind, endless grinds. But upon the next xpac, all your work with exception to your level is rendered useless...your level is literally the only thing that carries you until the grind restarts, so the items you put the hours into-to drive levels and XP in many cases are an utter waste (cosmetic and nostalgic aside).

                • Destiny Is a perfect for me. Between being a husband, a father, and a dull-time employee as well as a community representative, I barely have enough time to play games. Maybe 2-3 hours a week if I'm lucky. And even then, I'm usually hitting myself for it as it means going to bed extremely late and getting 3 hours of sleep or neglecting some of my work and then having to go in early the next day to finish it up. Not to mention, we used to live in a decent sized apartment with a room that I could game in and not be disturbed during the night. Our new apartment is tiny so my gaming tv is in the main family room. Plus, we just purchased Netflix so any time spent on that TV and PlayStation is now dedicated to Netflix. Destiny is perfect for me because I can pick it up easily without remembering what I was doing. The companion app helps me keep track of stuff. Also, because I don't have much time to play, I never get bored of it and often look forward to the nights I can hop on. I know that's not everyone and I sympathize with that. The game has some glaring defects with a company that is extremely manipulative and uncaring behind it. However, I will continue to play the game because I'm perfectly fine with those flaws and the game perfectly jives with my living situation.
