Instead of making a new environment you should alter the one you're in after learning every detail of the surrounding area

You can do the same with traps and hide them in plain sight

Still it can cause some strain on the users mind as well over time

Probably never my true form..a fallen angel can still make a creatures heart stop from fear even though their appearance is altered
