Snipers should descope when taking fire. Try not to cry, snipers.

Really getting sick and tired of shooting snipers in the head with my pulses and scouts as they just stand there and proceed to get a head shot. Or, snipers getting body shots under fire and then finishing me off with TLW. A simple solution to this problem is having snipers descope when getting hit.

  • In this case may we also petition for rushing shotgunners to be able to shot in the legs down and make them interrupt sprinting for a moments pause?

    • As an avid sniper user, I agree; but after a damage limit. For example, once your shield breaks, you are de-scoped. This still gives opportunity for counter-play for either the sniper or the flinch-inducer. This would also make higher impact primaries such as the first curse much more potent, with the ability to de-scope a sniper in one shot.

        I snipe all the time. This should happen, but only on a headshot. If you hit me in the head while I am sniping I should descope. Edit: Also when a sniper hits you in the body you should act like you got tethered for a second:

        • For snipers, why don't they just make it so aim assist is not a thing for snipers, make it so the scope is just a little unstable

        • But then you will cry that they will no scope you. No matter what you do, you will still get stomped by better players. You will then bitch about something else.

        • Or just add more flinch from being shot because I can use two different snipers, one with unflinching and one without, and not notice any changes. Bungie, make the unflinching perk actually do something, I feel like it is doing nothing as if all snipers already have a hidden unflinching perk attached.

        • Why not just take away short gaze and snapshot? It would eliminate people trying to quickscope and stop using snipers in close quarters. Only mid to long zoom should be available on snipers. Don't need more flinch or sway.

          • If that happens, which is not something I am at all opposed to being a sniper myself, I would have to advocate for the addition of a small reticle similar to what halo has on snipers in order to make snipers viable still.

            • I'm tired of all this. All other special weapons, especially sidearms need slight pvp buffs, and major pve buffs. Nevermind the special weapon reduction, we need a reason to use them.

              • Let's put it this way. I'm holding a 20 Lb sniper rifle in my hand. Looking in the scope. Oh no someone shooting me. I SHOULDNT be able to keep scoping. Especially when getting hit in the face.

                • That is caused by latency. Anyone who has used a sniper rifle in destiny knows that when you get hit your scope can end up on the ceiling. The problem is when latency is introduced a player can shoot a sniper but the hit registration doesn't occur until after the sniper has pulled the trigger. If latency is reduced then most of the problems people have with sniper rifles will be reduced if not completely eliminated.

                • Neh snipers are good where they're at. Just because bungie always seems to cater to newbs they responded to your crys with a special ammo nerf. That's as good as you're gonna get kids. Have a nice day and enjoy getting domed like the usual because you can't adapt your play style or counter.
