Firstly, I'm not the best raider. But I do my job, help others with theirs, and don't die.
What I've learnt over the past couple of weeks and over 50 (guesstimate) different hard raid lfg groups is:
* some people just aren't ready yet, regardless of light level and weapons
* don't try to run warpriest with less than 3 sleeper simulant
* don't try and run golgoroth with less than 3 spindles (1kys and similar with the right perks are fine)
* don't try and run sisters with less than 4 ToM
* if you don't get to at least the second cycle on oryx by the second run, leave
* every stage is easier with at least 1 hunter and 1 titan. If you don't have these 2, you're going to have a bad time
* if the same person screws up/dies/generally causes a wipe 3 times in a row, leave or boot them
Yes there are exceptions, good players are good players and can cover for what they lack. Everyone has a bad day. These are just my opinions re hard raid lfg groups.
Edit: for warpriest, the calls are "left" "right" and "middle". "Top" is an acceptable substitute for "left". Had someone today insist on calling top, bottom (for right), and middle. No-one understood them and they wouldn't change.
Edit 2: early in the week is best for lfg, as it's mostly established small groups looking for numbers to make 6. Later in the week it's mostly randoms trying to finish, or running alts. Very hard to find titans late in the week.
Edit 3: please take into account my entire post (some people aren't ready for hard mode etc). Warpriest can be easily beaten with lesser weapons, sniper only, whatever. In an lfg group made entirely of randoms, you need every advantage possible.
Edit 4: thanks for everyone's input.
Some called the post idiotic - I'm guessing these people run mostly in established teams or have just been luckier than me lfg. Or they ask for "315+ must have etc".
Some whole heartedly (or part heartedly) agreed. At least I know I'm not alone.
I was a fan of matchmaking for raids, but not anymore. Not in the current form anyway. Maybe a lobby that can hold 12 people where the lobby host can boot/select their team from?

Due to my work schedule I don't have time to raid til the weekend. Now in ttk finding a decent raid group is annoying, I've given up raiding for a while because I got so frustrated.
-
This is why when I raid beginning to end my time cap is 3 hours and I make sure all transactions all life things are done first(family, chores, etc). Also it doesnt hurt having what lfg demands(TOM and Spindle)which is unnecessary when you realize that Being on a plate with Tom during oryx fight is risky Aslong as two titans with weapon/blessing have tom they will melt orgres(assuming plate holders aren't just siting there) The runner with a sword well wreck the vessel easy Two people with Sleeper will destroy the shade pretty quickly

2 RepliesWhat I've learned from LFG: - Almost everyone in the world has a kid -Anyone else is a kid -You have to smoke weed, but make sure everyone knows about it first Do that, profit.
-
1 ReplyWhat I've learned is that no one wants to help others and are impatient assholes with no life expectations. It's a video game... everyone is treating it so damned seriously.
-
2 RepliesHey Mr know it all you are what's wrong with this game! Friggin idiot you think your a leetor and it can only be done one way? Not everyone is in a friggin hurry some people need extra help and patience is key to a good raid. YOU MY FRIEND IS WHATS WRONG WITH LFG and DESTINY.
-
5 RepliesI just want to point out that you do not have to use the tom or spindle to do hard mode my raid group and I beat it without those and we didn't use the sleeper either the most we had was 2kys provided it is difficult to kill the ogres for the challenge mode but we persevered

1 ReplyI have been trying to get through the raid on Tuesdays and Wednesdays now and find the caliber of players much better on average. Worth the effort to knock them out early, saves me hours.
-
4 RepliesWhat I've learned from LFG raid groups: - If your running normal and your the only one over 305 no matter what weapon selection you use you will do damage comparable to theirs. - if your the only one using a sleeper or spindle for warpriest then your in for a rough run. - light level does not equal skill - if someone loses their cool boot them. - Don't blame everything but yourself when you die and cause a team wipe, just own up to it.

4 RepliesSounds like u did have 50 raid groups funny thing is u were in all of them....... Maybe it aint the team
-
1 ReplyIn the same boat as you fella. Roughly same amount of completions most of them with randoms due to working shifts I had similar issues in year one. It's why I personally make sure I've always got the right tools for the job. Plus know the strat and stick to it. Any ways that's my two cents.

4 RepliesWarpriest is dead in two and golgoroth is dead in three the sisters die one after the other and oryx himself is the easy part with or without challanges. The spindle wrecks the fist two bosses. Lfg has some lazy gamers who want the loot without the work load...
-
1 Reply50 raid groups but only 16 completions?
-
3 RepliesI usually give my team 5 tries per boss , not including accidents or glitches before i leave the fireteam. If they die because something stupid or cant even do what theyre supposed to i just leave , unless they are new i help them out a little but if your over 314 and cant do anything ,im out.

1 ReplyAll pretty accurate but I miss the times when I would go through the kf raid with just my hung jury and Stillpiercer. It made it quite challenging. Now the only thing holding us back are incompetent fools that take the raid too lightly at the worst of times.

2 RepliesEdited by Bully_PEN: 1/29/2016 10:41:29 AMSleeper Simulant fur Warpriest? What kind of poor teams you running with? Me and my buddies breeze through this easily and quickly with only Spindles none of us have ever used SS tbh ,
-
2 RepliesWar priest gets spindle what do you speak of ? 2 rounds only
-
3 RepliesGood Points. But the one about the Sleeper at warpriest? Haven't heard about than one before. We do him with good snipers and bubbles in the back.
-
1 ReplyThis is not the way we run warpriest....ever.
-
6 RepliesI think you are one of those people that needs to be covered
-
This is pretty accurate
-
1 ReplyBullshìt All you need is a good sniper ( black spindle, still piercer, 1k stare ) every time ive beaten warprick none of us have used the sleeper simulant The raid was released BEFORE the sleeper simulant so how did you beat warprick then?
-
5 RepliesThis post is absolute nonsense.
-
5 RepliesWarpriest can be beaten on hard challenge mode without a single Sleeper Simulant, what on earth are you talking about!!!!?
-
4 RepliesFriday-Monday are the worst days to use those lfg sites.
-
3 RepliesThat's good to know. My usual raid group is dwindling, and I might have to hit up LFG soon. Question to you though. It seems like you often lfg. Why not pick the good players and form a pool of 20+ players that do it regularly?
