In the 2.0 patch notes both grenades had their damage nerfed, that is fine that is fair (even though firebolts still do 170 damage with viking funeral + touch of flame, whereas arcbolts are stuck at a pathetic 91 damage) but in 2.0 they only nerfed arcbolts range, which went from 11 meters to 8, and firebolts stayed at 11. This basically makes arcbolts unusable, whereas firebolts unfairly are still top tier. Honestly to fix this I don't want them to nerf firebolts range, but instead buff arcbolts range back from 8 to 11 meters to be the same range as firebolts. Thoughts?

First basic firebolt does 85 less than the 91 arcbolt. Second its because it can chain making it shoot even farther than 11 meters pre patch firebolt can't do that

Sunsingers are extremely good at their neutral game (grenades and melees). The entire subclass and even the super is based around their grenades and melees so it only makes sense that they would be kinda effective. Also not to mention fire bolt grenade had its damage nerfed with arcbolt grenade. It takes two perks to make those grenades so effective. Without them the grenades are extremely sub-par and kinda pathetic.

20 RepliesI main a Warlock and the Sunsinger super generally is bad for PVP, so easily countered by other supers or just regular weapons (especially specials, go figure right?) so to make up for that, a good grenade and melee seems fair. Granted the burn lasts a while but it's really al we can do. A self res Warlock in trials rarely clutches, most teams are prepared for self res by aiming snipers or standing by with shotguns so a good neutral game is needed for warlocks.

They did hit range as well as damage.
-
1 ReplyProbably because it was a hunter grenade, bungie seems lo love screwing over the class over and over again, also I know warlocks have one now too, but the other choices are far better than arcbolt
-
also then you're nerfing the super as well since it's all revolved around nades shooting and melee..sunsinger are due a buff
-
1 ReplyThey did, turkey.
-
Because Arcbolt chains from enemy to enemy while Firebolt does not.
-
1 ReplyAt least hunters have skip grenades and flux(although flux are kinda shit) stormcallers have zero decent grenades
-
5 RepliesBecause hunters can't have nice things
-
Because arcbolt grenades can jump from enemy to enemy with their chain lightning increasing their distance where firebolt cant
-
Idk why it needed a nerf at all. It wasn't even op.
-
2 RepliesYeah I was looking forward to getting the arcbolt on my hunter and now it's been nerfed so I have to use flux
-
2 RepliesThey nerfed fire bolt accuracy
-
1 ReplyIt's because of the chaining ability.
-
They nerfed bolt grenades range. Firebolt and Arcbolt.
-
Edited by lietenantdan: 1/25/2016 9:28:21 PMI'm guessing because arc bolt grenades can chain, which increases its range
-
2 RepliesI still wonder this as well
-
2 RepliesSo many morons in the comments... holy shit.
-
5 RepliesProbably cause the blade dancer sub class already has a direct damage super and plenty of killing potential. Sunsingers in super just have grenades, melee, and dying twice.
-
9 Repliesyou do know that arcbolt could tag a whole team while firebolt is 3 max right?
-
They nerfed the range on both. The problem with FB is when they changed the burn damage on the Titan melee it also changed on FB. Bungie being Bungie....
-
12 RepliesFirebolt needs a nerf tho, not damage or range but I'd say it shouldn't have the ability to be used with the burning perk,
-
I'd say it has to do with the entire super revolving around grenades. The sunsinger was nerfed in other aspects though, the effectiveness of HotPF was decreased heavily.

1 ReplyBecause blink and quickdraw and honestly just blink outbof the firebolt common donyou have thumbs or not?
