Destiny is Dying and Bungie is the one that is killing it. They are literately trying to edge Free-to-Play features into a game that is clearly not free-to-play. People keep saying "Oh well every other game is doing it" and so what, Most AAA games these day are -blam!-ing garbage because they do shit like this. Just because everyone is doing doesn't mean it is ok in any way, shape, or form, and to except it makes you just as trashy. "Oh but it's not expensive, who can't afford (X amount of currency here)" True the money isn't that much, but it's the value of what is being sold that is coming into question. $5 for a emote? $10 for a temporary racing book? Another $10 for a sparrow? $40 for a -blam!-ing maybe 8-10 hours of work in the game? The items being sold are not worth the value that is being placed on them. Are you saying these items are worth an 1/8th to the full price of an entire expansion? "Oh but WoW sells level up packs, and LoL charges a lot for their skins". This is true, but when WoW sells the level up packs for the expansions it is saving people weeks and maybe even months of grinding up to that level, not just a few hours. LoL charges high prices for their character skins because IT IS FREE TO PLAY, THIS IS WHERE MOST OF THEIR INCOME COMES FROM. Destiny doesn't take long to level in and is not Free-to-Play so it doesn't get an excuse for charging outlandish prices. "Oh but it doesn't affect you so....why do you care" Because this has happened in tons of games for the past Decade and -blam!-ing mindless idiots keep falling for it. It just keeps getting worse and worse and it will til the players finally say that have enough, but because people like to just turn a blind eye because "it doesn't affect them" in the immediate run, they think it will never affect them,. "Oh But it won't get worse, Bungie is just selling little things" Yeah, remember when we all thought it was just going to be emotes? Then they started selling RNG items and log books. Sure those are only limited to Eververse, but let's delve deeper here. Remember when they said they would never sell anything the Eververse that would be needed to complete a raid or a crucible match? This means not only can they sell whatever they wish in Eververse practically, but what they don't sell in Eververse they could be more than free to sell it on the game stores. This is not limited at all and can include all the ships, shaders, exotic blue prints, emblems, sparrow, and grimmoire/grimmoire score. There is also the fact that one of the most asked for things in the entire game, sparrow racing, was a temporary event with [b]ONLY 2 MAPS[/b] and again that was temporary. There is also the fact that their "plan" for the second year is to just give us shitty little 2 month events, and drip feed us "new content" until Destiny 2/next expansion. I wouldn't mind if they released a new better expansion, but releasing events that are not only boring (or become boring extremely fast) and are pretty much just a face for micro-transaction is a very poor way to handle a game, as is treating a game that people payed for like a cheap free-to-play version of itself. This game will die, and it is sadly because Bungie treats. not only it's creation, but the players like garbage, but, just like a beaten spouse, you continue to come back to it, because one day it might get better. It never does and it never will, and to think otherwise is a grand delusion indeed.

Well, it's Tuesday morning and I have exactly 0 friends on my list playing destiny. In the peak times there was around 20 or so. Idk, seems kinda dead to me.

I did leave months ago, and came back for a day to try sparrow racing and then left again. So why am I on the forums? To occasionally check if something incredible has happened and it's worth playing again. In reality I come back see the exact same moany bullshit I saw months ago and learn -blam!- all has changed, not even the forums and leave again. Which is precisely what I'll be doing now. Might be back in February.

Just a quick point. Many people who have left destiny due to various frustrations still come to the forums because they hope things will get better. If their opinion is that the game is garbage then they have the right to that opinion as much as the guy who thinks it's amazing. You can stop playing a game and still be on a public forum. People who hate the game generally hate it because they have a passion for it and want and hope to see it improve. That's why many still frequent the forums.

Game is doing fine. I just got Sleeper Simulant the other weekend. That last part is a 1-time match made mission. I found a fireteam with hardly any search time and we all three started at the beginning. That is proof that this game is healthy. If you deny then you're an ostrich.

Got to be honest I'm bored of destiny right now. There is literally nothing to do other then grind the raid to get to 320 and seeing how destiny has been I don't see the point as when the next content drops all the gear will be pointless anyway and I'll get to 320 light after a few blue and green drops from the next expansion so I've moved onto fallout 4 and will probably get the division as well. I've put a silly amount of time into this game but time to move on until the next content drops and I don't mean sparrow racing or some other rubbish I mean a proper expansion.

It's not dying but slowly bleeding players. The next update will truly determine whether it will hemorrhage players or if it will win them back.
