Should Xur sell exotic shards?
So Xur used to sell exotic shards and it was very helpful. I know I can farm for exotics using three of coins and shard them, but I am a collector and if I get an exotic I don't have then I will keep it. Also my success rate with 3oC is a bit shite tbh. I have a lot of strange coins and would rather spend them on a load of shards than 3oC. Plus, the majority of the exotics I use or that are useful to me drop at 280 or 290. As I am 311 I need to infuse them a LOT and that requires a tonne of shards.

1 ReplyHe should sell Shards. There is no reason other than slowing us down to not sell them. Have you seen how long it takes to start a crucible match? I think a lot of people quit. Bored players leave. Frustrated players leave.

He already did sell them in y1, it's just the fact that bungie seems to think that increasing grind=increasing play time. It's all over the place. The weapon parts Nerf, giving endgame people with quests done about 4 ways yo actually earn legendary marks, no more shards from Xur, the list goes on.

Yes, Xur should sell exotic shards. That's his business. But armour materials should be sold by Banshee or the Vanguard. Otherwise, people will complain about having to spend strange coins on armour, AND they would only be available for 2 days (while Xur is around). I already hate the time-gated crap. We don't need any more.

2 Repliesyou can "farm" for exotic shards by making a dup with the blue-prints, leveling it up to max, and then dismantling them. TTK exotics dismantle into 2 shards when maxxed, right? or is that just old Y1 exotics? haha, i might not be helpful after all, seeing as i've been sitting on 50+ shards since HoW (and despite infusing plentily, that number just keeps growing! im at 82 now :p)

2 RepliesShould we really be trusting Xur with exotic shards? We are talking about the same Hentai-tentacled-faced Agent of the Nine that couldn't unlock a door in the reef once he went inside? Shards have jagged ends and I don't think we should let Xur be left with them.

1 ReplyHe does but they are hidden as 3 of coins, so you have to pay for them and then grind for a dumb 280 light weapon or gear so one can dismantle it.

Yes...again Although I found a way to "farm" them. Buy a heavy you already have and if you have a class item that increases xp for MG or RL it only takes 5 motes to max out the nex exotic. Then when you dismantle it you get 2 exotic shards 2+ motes and weapons parts. Honestly it's really cheap and fast

It's soo hard for new people to play xur not selling exotic shards just makes it tougher

Yes, I had a stash of about 30 when ttk dropped and now have about 30, so I can see it being a problem for new players/those who never had a lot at a time.
